  1. Dave Dawson is original designer of STI Edge and knows more about these pistols than anyone in the world! You can "what if" any pistol, but if you want best pistol and customer service only purchase from Dawson Precision. Do yourself huge favor and do not let another gunsmith touch pistol, if it needs any work contact Dave. In order to have Dave as you're gunsmith you must purchase from him, why settle for less than the best! Shootemgood- Robert Walker
  2. Don't buy either one, get an STI Trojan from Dawson Precision and have Dave do enhancement package. You will save money and have a better pistol. ShootemGood, Robert
  3. I use Tripp 8 rd mags, Dawson Ice magwell and now Dave makes base pads for Tripp mags that let you load slick as ice!!! Call Dawson Precision and they will get you fixed up. I don't believe there is a better combination for single stack shooters available! ShootemGood, Robert
  4. I am loading .40 cal, flat point, .401 diameter and 185 gr. Precision bullets on top of assorted pick up range brass and cases are being marked near base when in sizing die. I am using Dillon 650 w/Dillon dies. I have taken re-loader completely apart, cleaned and adjusted all dies per owners manual. It does not mark all brass which makes me think some may have been shot out of Glock and when resizing, bulge in brass is getting marked with scratch near bottom. Has anyone had this problem? solution? Thanks, Robert
  5. I went too Dawson Precision and purchased 1911 Ice Magwell yesterday and it is absolutely perfect! I easily installed and looks great! I use Tripp Cobra mags and it looks like they were made for the magwell. I feel like this is one of the best ideas Mr. Dawson has had so far and is a "must have" for any 1911 single stack shooter. They fit in IDPA box and weigh hardly anything, this magwell will improve your ability to speed reload! ShootemGood
  6. I was having an issue today with brass feeding into shell plate and could not figure out what was wrong. I called Dillon Precision and we ran through some possible fixes but nothing solved problem, then the tech announced he knew what was probably wrong. He instructed me too remove shell plate and check too see if bolts were loose that secured plate too frame, sure enough both were loose. After tightening my 650 is running like brand new! I know ya'll here from upset customers but I want you too hear from a happy one, ShootemGood, Robert Walker
  7. Post #42 referred to Robert & Ted. I would imagine any rule change goes across Mr. Wilson's desk for stamp of approval. If question about Recoil Master has been going for awhile, why can't we get an official ruling rather than depending on 2nd-3rd hand information off of internet forum? ShootemGood, Robert Walker
  8. With all due respect too Robert & Ted how can a ruling on this matter be left too their interpretation of the rules? Do either of these men have the ability too make and/or change IDPA rules? Why can't someone walk over to Mr. Wilson's office and ask what his ruling is, he wrote the rule book. How can a competitor go to a match and decision is up too each MD's interpretation if legal? Seems very simple too me, go ask the man who owns IDPA, his interpretation is the only one that counts. ShootemGood, Robert Walker
  9. I attended a state championship and one of the shooters in ESP class was using STI double stack 9mm pistol loaded too 10 plus one which I know is legal, but when he finished stage the SO questioned him about using Recoil Master spring system and told him not legal. MD was summoned and told SO and shooters that Recoil Master is not mentioned in rule book as illegal and therefore could continue too shoot. I am new too IDPA but there were several other experienced shooters who claimed it is not legal, can you please clarify? Thanks, Robert Walker
  10. I am loading 45acp once used brass with precision bullets and am getting variance in OAL from 1.238 to 1.243. I have shell plate tightened down as far as I can and still function properly. My target length is 1.240 which I get about half the time and varies rest of time. Any ideas on getting consistent 1.240 or is this normal for progressive loader? Thanks, Robert
  11. I have recently purchased this scale but did not come with owners manual. Scale is from 1997 and made in USA version. If anyone has manual and could email to me it would be a great help. My main concern is calibrating. Thanks, Robert
  12. I called Starline and they did make it for Texas-Ammo but that company has gone out of business. Thanks for help.
  13. Does anyone know where to buy this brass?
