  1. I used a sleeve and an aftec in my P16, and it's been working great for several thousand rounds now. When I bought the aftec, the EGW's weren't available yet. If I had to do it again now though, I'd probably go the EGW route. -John
  2. Thanks a lot. -John
  3. Sorry for the silly question, but will a standard 1911 single stack MSH pin fit a hi-cap Para frame with a standard Para MSH, or is there a Para specific pin? Thanks, John
  4. A few years ago I was trying to work up a subsonic load for my AR-15 for use with a suppressor. With reduced loads, the rifle would not cycle at all. During a load work up, I had a bullet get stuck just past the gasport, and the bolt did cycle. The sound was much different and definitely noticeable; I knew right away what happened. The bullet was surprisingly easy to push out with a cleaning rod. I would say that the resistance was similar to a tight fitting patch over a jag. -John
  5. As many have said above, you need to define 'best.' Are you looking for lightest weight, smallest size, shortest length, best suppression, most durable, compatibility with other calibers and platforms etc? AAC designed their 7.62SDN specifically for the Blackout, but beyond that, just about any .30 suppressor will work. Many center fire pistol suppressors will work as well if you are only planing on shooting subsonic ammo. 6. The sleeve isn't quite as long as the extractor channel. I pushed mine in until it was flush with the breach face. The instructions say to wait 24 hours for the locktite to cure/dry before installing the extractor or using your pistol. -John
  7. what kind of locktite did you use for the sleeve?...thanks When I put mine in, I used blue locktite. Since then, I have around 600 rounds downrange between practice and matches. Everything seems to be working fine. Make sure that you clean and degrease the extractor channel really well before you put yours in. -John
  8. Thanks a lot for the help, guys. It looks like I'll go with the Aftec. -John
  9. I have been shooting Glocks for quite a while, but I came across a great deal on a P16 Limited a few months ago. After I got my load OAL sorted out, it has been running great. Well, at a match the other day, I had three failures to extract, with the brass remaining in the chamber. Two of the failures occurred on the same course of fire. I have had an intermittent failure every now and again over the past few months, but with three in the same match, I think its time to finally do something about it now. I have been reading through this forum, as well as others, and it looks like most people are putting in a sleeve and then running an Aftec extractor. My question is why everyone seems to be running an Aftec vs some other brand? It looks like once I put the sleeve in, I can run pretty much any extractor I want, correct? I don't mind forking over a little extra for an Aftec, I just want to get it right the first time. Thanks for the help. -John
