Obviously there are many GMs out there.  I just wanted to see which Enos members are GMs.  In my opinion it gives your posts more credibility.  I'm just an "A".   So I might listen harder to a GM or M......if the delivery is right

    😬

    Be careful.

It is a great question. Christian Sailor seems to like them both in open and on the Shadow 2 he runs in CO. I really think like most things, it just comes down to personal preference. You should pick one of these up, Jason. I’d be curious what you think of it on the Rival.

I don’t run my thumbs forward enough to really touch it.

I do like that these will prevent you from dumping the mag on table starts. That alone might be worth it if a guy has that problem.

  3. So this is not to critique the product. I’ve just always wondered why these are pretty common on open guns but very few people at  a high level run these on Prod/CO. At least that I’ve seen.

Not a fan of conical bullets? Would likely solve the short loading issue.

I have about 40k of bullets already bought and paid for. Don’t want to buy new ones for the rival. Though, I’ve noticed chamber length changes in my TP9SFX as I’ve gotten new ones. I’m just gonna shoot my older ones I guess. Though, with my current loads, they shoot low with the fixed irons.  So, can’t really find a sweet spot.  I might just get some CZ’s 🤣. Oh wait. They have CIP too!

I wish you would come back to USPSA. You are the one that turned me on to these Caniks after you took 2nd at nats with one.

    Thanks for the huge compliment.

I’m starting to get back into things. I needed a break.

currently I’m trying to remember my load data. I lost all my precut info.

also, I’m starting to get pissed off at these stupid ass CIP chambers. I want one load that’ll work across all my guns, but some bullet ogives are just too round and I don’t want to load super short.

europeans and their 115 gr fmj😡

  6. Mine is pretty short!🙄

I don’t want to ream the barrel but I want to keep my reloads the same and have them work for every gun.   Not sure what I’m gonna do at the moment. Right now I’be still got 5 TP9SFX set up. So, not in a hurry.

B_Rad: You and Jacob H. did not shoot CO Nats this year. I hope you guys are not taking the ride into the sunset option. I am giving CO a try and your 2nd place previous year CO Nats video was quite instructive (as are Jacob's videos).

I had way too much going on with work, life, etc in the weeks leading up to Nats. I had to back out. I ended up getting sick that week so it was best I ended up not going.

I'm also dealing with serious burnout.  I have zero desire to shoot right now.

The org has some issues right now! That's not helping cure my burnout.

Maybe a long off season will help? Though, I'm finding it difficult to get away from everything.

The video of 2020 nats has only a few stages. I don't film myself. Those were taken by a buddy.  Most of them in the video are bad stages for me.

If you're looking for a forum where people are just talking about getting better I'd check out Ben's group PTSG. You have to pay to be there which seems to keep things in line.

Yeah. If the OP wants quality info, PSTG is the place to go. No drama. No bad info to sort thru. Just good, correct info.

so where do people congregate now? where can someone find the 2005-2010 benos experience that I got into the sport too late to enjoy?

🤷‍♂️  Just know,… most the time, the answer is skill. Not gear!

The funny thing to me is that people expect USPSA to NOT screw up the Nationals in some manner or another. Their track record proves otherwise. Regardless of where the USPSA Nationals will be hosted, they will find a way to screw it up in some manner or another. This is what happens when the people responsible for hosting it are not held accountable for their repeated failures.

    Could not agree more!

That's what I thought as well. I caught some of the live video of him shooting, and it looked like a magwell-less Legion lower. I'm guessing he just didn't have the confidence in the new aluminum one. He only just got it right before Nats, so totally understandable.

I know it takes me several thousand rounds to really trust a gun. Especially when we’re taking about Nats!

  12. Also, Masons gun was actually his CO grip module and he didn’t even put a magwell on it. Not the one in the pic posted above. His upper is a grey guns upper in .40. No magic voodoo. 100% the person pulling the trigger.

this is like a basic understanding that some people either get to or they don’t. Like other issues in life.  Like a good credit score or saving money, learning a good trade. You know things that normal intelligent people come to understand as they mature.

skill trumps everything else. If you learn/accept that, you’re at least heading in the right direction.

    You're not wrong. lol

    I know I’m not.

I can tell you from experience from actual matches, it’s skill.

anyone crying about heavy guns and large price tags or unobtainium or any of that, simply don’t have the skill. Period!

  14. It is “easier” to make GM in CO. Or was. Not sure it’s still that way. I did make it in 2019 and it was easier back then.

The classification system is a little messed up but it is what it is and for the most part, classifications do provide a good indication of how the results will play out.

Why is it “easier” in CO?  Well, I’d say the real issue is it’s harder for all the others. Let’s look at Prod for instance. Most of those classifiers have been shot so much. Way more than most CO ones, so the HHF are bumped up so high that it’s more difficult.  Any of the newer classifiers should be set using the results from Nats. Since that’s where they’re introduced now and I’d say those(newer ones) are equally difficult regardless of the division.

The original CO classifiers did just use the Prod numbers but I don’t think that’s been the case for a while. Any of the older ones that were introduced before CO was a thing, should have been shot enough at locals and majors where they have their own HHF now.

So, is it still easier?  IDK?  Even if it is, CO is now the most popular division. So, it’s the most difficult division now.

    make sense?

    OP didn’t shoot it.

very international in feel, on the closer stage, a long retreat to depress the hit factor. Timing and positioning oriented. Best stages required rapid change ups in aiming schemes. A little light on movement overall, partially due to space constraints. Much more 20-25 yard shooting than a typical 10 stage match. Partialed up, but good balance of vertical and horizontal.

it was of a flavor with area 8, although more shooting challenges than positional.

were the MD to MD again, I would prioritize attendance — it may be the closest I ever get to shooting in Europe.

as an aside, lots of people going full send in a match that specifically punished that.

    Thanks for your take!

    I'm disappointed I didn't go.

Haven't shot my Glock 17 in nearly a year. May have shot my Glock 22 once or twice during that time, but it's been over 6 months ago. I've mainly concentrated on my Shadow 2 which is running a dot and a light hammer spring. Wow, what a difference. I shot my Glock 17 today, and kind of stunk it up in comparison. Obviously the Shadow 2 is much heavier, has a much better trigger, and has an optic. But, is it that much better?

I guess I'm wondering if the Shadow 2 is covering up deficiencies in my overall ability as far as accuracy, trigger pull, grip, etc.... Would it ever make more sense to go back to a Glock, M&P, etc., and work on basic proficiency? Then maybe look at improving in competition with a plastic pistol before going back to the S2.

I believe some guns are more forgiving than others. As far as accuracy goes, most guns are very accurate. But the more forgiving gun usually gives the shooter more accuracy.

If you want to shoot gun A in competition, shoot gun A. I wouldn't try to shoot gun B to get proficient with the intent to shoot gun A later. Just shoot what you want and get "proficient".

Don't buy into the hype that the heavier gun is better just because it's heavier. Or vice versa. There are plenty of examples of someone shooting most every gun type at a very high level. Pick what you like and go with that.

If someone jumps out and recommends what they're shooting, realize that could be them trying to rationalize what they've chosen.

  17. Primer detonation should be avoided.

This problem just carpet up in the last few months.

I've cleaned the sheel plate. Reset stations 1-4.

I did get a new powder die around the time this started but can't see how that's causing it.

The next step is to buy a new shell plate.

Also, I'm noticing that the rounds fail more in my hundo that they do in my single car gauge.

Not fun. So you're thinking that using the hold down created a situation that caused the blow up?

    Yes.

It might have been a combination of the promer anvil set too deep and the hold down. Without the hold down, the case moves and no bang. With the hold down; the case doesn't move and the primer gets set too deep and bang. That's my theory.

Also, add in the chance of not being properly swagged, then bang.
