In stock...
Thanks but out of curiousity is it ok to use CCI and Federal small rifle primers too?
-
I have been using Winchester small rifle primers for loading 9mm, .40 S&W and 38 Super Comp. I got some Winchester small pistol primers but am running out. I can't find anyone with Win small rifle in stock.
Is it ok to use small rifle primers in the above calibers made by Federal and CCI. I assume it is but want to be certain.
Thanks

I read an article recently about making light loads. Specifically, it said you could use Titegroup as low as 3.2 gr in a 180 grain bullet. I actually tried 3.8 and it worked very well, felt a lot like 9mm. The Titegroup guide actually calls for 4.2 to 4.8 I believe.
My question is, is it safe to try loading lighter than what the reloading guides call for to try and produce a round with less recoil.
Thanks G-Man. I guess to play it safe then it makes sense to load the lower side of the published data.

Thanks G-man. So does that mean I should not use small rifle primers with 9mm minor loads that are around 135 pf?
