  1. I wonder if the material used in these targets, in a 24" or 30" square mounted on target sticks would do the job?

    Tom,

Those will show no movement at distance, unless people used varmint type bullets. Even Sierra Match Kings probably won't expand enough to make them move.

I was thinking as a stationary backer, 1-2 yds behind the target so weight does not affect target indicating movement.

  2. Nook needs to be on wifi with internet access and it will reset clock automagically. I put the club Nooks on my home wifi while charging the day before the match. Unlikely clock would drift 10 + minutes in 24 hours. It's an Android function, has nothing do do with Practiscore, other than PS detects and notifies when clocks on syncing devices are too far apart.

  3. Don't get distracted at preload. Happened to me in 2010 at Ft. Benning. Stage with mixed birdshot and slugs. Distracted, lost count and forgot to put birdshot on top for three close poppers. Being the first shooter on the squad with freshly painted steel, slug hits on close poppers were REAL obvious. Procedurals plus $50/hit x 3.

  4. Match is defined on a master (Nook or iPad) with stages and registration. I also do squadding there. Then I sync stage Nooks, pulling from master, now they're ready to go to the stages for score entry - I'll usually select the stage and first squad so it's ready to go - squad can determine shooting order. Nook stays on stage, squad self-ROs for Level I.

  5. Scores/results and activity/classifier report are two distinct things. Only the activity/classifier report has to go to USPSA. As a designated uploader I do that when i get home from the match (90 minute drive, normally last to leave the range) and have my laptop with internet access (not available at the range). Was uploading to Practiscore from my Android phone before leaving the range, but now using an iPad that is WiFi only, that is the first thing uploaded and activity report generated.

We do have a WiFi printer on the non-internet scoring network at the range, so printed scores are posted from the iPad as soon as teardown is complete.

  6. Docter, Burris Fastfire, C-more and Deltapoint move dot to POI. Not familiar with Eotech. Usually do my adjustments with a muzzle/chamber laser at desired near zero range. Shotgun slug @ 50y, rifle secondary @ 25y, and pistol @ 10y.
