  1. CZ previously had a factory option of the finger-groove rubber grips. My (pre-B)85 came with them. My understanding is that they are legal for production.

    A-G

They were also stock on the CZ Champion.

  2. Nope...just running the AFC mags with the blue followers. Could try doing some of the follower trimming, but I don't think it would gain enough to get another .40 round in there.

Now if I could only find my magwell, I'd REALLY be in business!

  3. I have Lee's .38 Short Colt die set. It is a combination of a 38 Super die set and a 38 Special/.357 mag set.

    Resizer/Decapper is marked .38/.357 F8

    Powder through Expander is unmarked

    Seating/Crimping is markred .38 Auto E8

It is a taper crimp seating die.

The brass I used was R-P .38 Special cut to Short Colt Length and loaded with 9mm data. The bullets (125 grain Lead at minor PF) didn't move in the case upon firing and I don't think a roll crimp is necessary in this application.

  4. I used 3M Safety Walk on my CZ. It was about $9 for a big roll, and cutting to fit wasn't even an issue. It only measures .030" thick, so if you are thinking of using it to "build up" the grip...you will have to make several wraps. One wrap won't make a difference thickness wise.

  5. So, I just dropped another unexpected $300 for a Double Alpha RaceMaster holster (that I still will have to modify the SP01 block to accept the TS frame), belt, and extra block for a CZ75.

Fitting the Racemaster is easy. I did mine in about 10 minutes with a fine bastard file. The lock is rock solid on my 75B .40, and you can adjust the holster to as tight or loose as you want with the lock disabled.

  6. More Shotgun Stages. The amount of shotgun content was pathetic in the first one.

Stop doing EVERYTHING with the Beretta. There are other combat-grade sidearms available, such as the Sig, H&K, Browning, CZ, even Ruger. Of the 20 stages, the Beretta 92 was in 5 of them, plus every elimination range.

    More Revolver.

A 1911 stage. No 1911 stage in the first episode floored me.

A Glock stage. Whether you like them or not, they are a big part of the industry.

Long range handgun, ie T/C Encore or XP-100.

    1,000 yard Sharps Buffalo.

A .22 challenge. The .22 is the largest market in firearms.

How about actually going into the shooter's background, either in the first episode or after they are eliminated. You would be surprised how many people off this board had NO CLUE that Mike Seeklander was a top level shooter and instructor.

  7. I've got the CZ Custom extension on the new style 13 round mags (blue followers). They hold 15 rounds. I haven't upgraded my springs yet, but right now I can load all 15 rounds by hand without using a magloader. Loading the 15th round is easier now than loading the 13th round was before the addition of the basepad.

  8. I am not a gunsmith and can barely qualify as "someone who works well with his hands". I did all the work myself. If I got frustrated or confused, I just referenced the articles listed above and figured it out. It isn't as complicated as you would think.

Burningsquirrels' post on the CZ forum gave me the confidence to do it. I took my time and studied the photos and the result was fantastic. The thing that took the longest for me was fitting the safety. I really took my time, as I didn't want to take too much off and have it not function.

When you make your order, make sure you purchase the CZ Custom trigger pin. Instead of using a roll pin, the trigger pin is a solid pin and much better.

My SAO trigger pull breaks right at 2.25 lbs. I have the Comp hammer, Flat trigger, 13 lb mainspring, extended firing pin, no firing pin block, trimmed lifter leg, and removed disconnector.

If you get questions, the CZF is a good place to ask them. Great group over there.

  9. I have the old style magwell on my Satin Nickle .40 that I am setting up for L10 in USPSA. I took the basepads off the mags and took them to my bench grinder. I rolled them on the wheel and tried to keep the original profile until they would fit inside the magwell. I have a small detail file I am going to use to slightly open up the area where the magazine catch grabs the magazine body. I did that with a Baby Eagle mag I got for $6 and it worked really well.

  10. It wasn't at a Scheels store, was it? Ours are EXTREMELY overpriced. They sell used guns for new price and new guns at Manufacturer's Suggested Retail price. They also won't budge on price and offer no help after the sale if you have any problems with your purchase.

  11. Just curious if anyone out there has the long barrel version of the CR Speed WSMII for the longer barrel? I've got a 8 3/8" L frame that I want to shoot IPSC and ICORE with. Does anyone know if the parts can be ordered down the road to convert it for use with the standard length?

I think my only other option holster wise is the old Safariland 002. Does anyone know what the correct model would be for the long barrel? I am thinking 002-107-121.

My wife won't let me get a 5" N frame (she also beats me and locks me in the closet), so I'm going to have to make due this year with the long barrel.

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

    Thank you,

    James

  12. i've been experimenting on my friends EDS&M machine and i think i've perfected a design utilizing virgin unobtainium from uranus.

Virgin or not...I'm not touching ANYTHING that came out of Uranus.

  13. It's entirely possible! I've got a pair of next to new Levis with a blast through the leg from shooting my 686 Creedmore style. He originally posted on an AR forum that he was going to try to sue S&W because they were neglegent in making a product this dangerous.

For those who are interested, here are links to what we're talking about.

  15. Shot it at the range tonight and what a difference! Almost 200 rounds and they just slid right out. I can't wait until I'm out of Unique. I'm sure a different powder will make a world of difference too. Unique+Lead=Lots of smoke and filthy hands.

I loaded up some Ramshot True Blue with some 158's I am going to try this weekend. There's IPSC on Sunday. I don't know if I'll shoot it or just go to watch. Either way will be a good time!

  16. Well, I was bored last night. I used Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish, a .40 cal bore mop, and a Craftsman 18 volt drill. Shells just slide in and out now! I'll shoot it tonight and see if it does better dirty than it did before. It does look quite a bit better than the pics turned out.

  17. Whizz,

What did you make your holder out of? Kydex body with Delrin posts? Any chance we could get a shot of the back side, where it attaches to the belt?

That is some really good looking handywork there!
