  1. Hi,

A friend has 8lb of WSL (unopened) that he has had for ages. I had a bit of a search, and could not find a lot of information on using WSL for making Major with 180s. However I did find some information on it by Jeff Maass. I was wondering if you could help shed some light on this powder.

1 - Is it a suitable powder to use for making Major (Loaded long 1.185)

    2 - Is it temperature sensitive/reverse sensitive?

3 - What does the recoil feel like?

    4 - Is is a clean/dirty powder?

Any other information about it would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

  2. I use an 17lbs Main spring and 12.5lbs recoil spring. I have changed from an 11lbs recoil spring to 12.5lbs as the sights track better. Don't have any issues with setting off primers, however I do use an extended FP. PF of 175.

  3. Hi,

I did a search, and have not quite been able to find the answer - maybe my search fu is weak today. Is Win 231 temperature sensitive? If yes, can you please advise in which way ie: faster when colder? I am currently using Titegroup, but are looking at Win 231 as a replacement, since TG runs a bit hot for my liking.

    Thanks!

  4. Hi,

This past weekend I had the chance to be squadded with KC for a 2 day shoot and then followed up with a 2 day class. All I can say is WOW! The experience was worth it in every way. KC is a great shooter and incredibly funny as well. During the shoot he was more than willing to share his knowledge and happy to answer any questions. We all had a blast during the shoot.

The training class delivered more that I could have asked for. KC has a wealth of knowledge to share and knows how to deliver it. Each one of us in the class got the individual attention we deserved and came away from the class much more knowledgable. Everything was explained very clearly as well as the reasons why he uses it. This will help my shooting and I have already noticed an improvement with my dry fire routine. This was an experience that I enjoyed and would recommend to anyone.

It was one of my most enjoyable experiences!

  5. Hope this is in the right forum - Mods feel free to move if better suited elsewhere.

THe other day I was going to do some training, but due to other commitments only got to the range quite late in the day. It turned out to be a blessing. As the light was fading, it became more and more difficult to see hits on the paper targets. I do get lazy and sometimes look at the targets to see if the hits are there

However with the fading light, it forced me to pay attention to the sights (shooting limited), and call my shots. It turned out to be a confidence booster, knowing that I had to rely on calling the shots, and knowing where it went.

It turned out to be a very satisfying and rewarding session. In the end I got more from the practice session, than if I got to the range earlier!
