  1. I just want a standard 40 S&W version.
  2. It's my most favorite handgun by a wide margin.
  3. Was it ever determined if these have a forged or cast frame?
  4. If you want a 2011 buy one. I’m sure there’s a very good reason why it’s different for the DWX as they tried to use all of the 1911 parts that they possibly could.
  5. The paper says “Adjusted slide stop detent”. I’m not sure what that means but the detent is now fully engaging the divot in the safety now.
  6. I got the DWX back today and the safety is now perfect. I can’t wait for the 40 S&W to be released as I must own one. The DWX is my perfect full-size handgun.
  7. My DWX was delivered to CZ on Monday and it’s on its way back today It’s supposed to be here Friday so I’ll report back with the results.
  8. That's what ultimately caused me to ship mine back to Dan Wesson as I just couldn't be happy with it. It's being delivered today so hopefully I'll get it back soon.
  9. I did decide to send mine back to have the safety looked at as it’s still just not quite right so I’m driving it over to FedEx today. Hopefully the 4-6 weeks is accurate.
  10. I'm glad I went ahead and got one now. Maybe I'll have the money saved up to buy another by the time the others are released
  11. Not that would be in the same league as my next most expensive handgun is a Kimber Pro Raptor II. I’m also far from being a good handgun shooter. I was just ecstatic that all 10 shots were in the center of the target and ~2” group at 12yds the first time I shot it.
  12. I got to shoot mine today and I'm in love with this gun!! It's the first gun that I've ever shot which didn't need the sights adjust for me at all. 25yds was fun and all were centered. It's cold so it wasn't the best group but I'm extremely happy with it and have added the 40 S&W version to my "must buy" list when I have the funds. As far as the "soft" thumb safety goes on my gun it appears to have remedied itself during the course of me firing ~100rds through the gun as it's now very distinct and I'm not feeling the need to send it in to be looked at currently. I'll keep an eye on it on my next range trip but I'm happy to see that it appears to be mostly (if not completely) resolved as I really didn't want to send it in. In short I love this gun and it'll be the last handgun I ever sell.
  13. I think I’ll send it in as I don’t want to mess up a brand new $2K+ gun. I’ll build AR’s and the like but this is outside of my comfort zone.
  14. That's true, however, it still doesn't seem right given my prior 1911 experience and the price point of this gun. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out for me. It's my first modern Dan Wesson, however, I definitely want to grab the 40 S&W version when it's released...and maybe even a compact
  15. I just filled it out and submitted it...thanks! I really don't like complaining about things, however, it just doesn't seem right when compared to all of the 1911's I've handled in the past and still own.
  16. I'm hoping they'll let me send it back as I agree wholeheartedly since this is my most expensive handgun by far. The Kimber held that title previously but it was barely $1000 back in 2007. I'll keep everyone apprised. Hopefully I'll hear something from them before the weekend. I'm not horribly picky, however, it'd be way too easy to accidently engage the safety the way it is currently. I wouldn't trust myself to use it as a nightstand gun because of that at this time.
  17. I'll try to shoot it this weekend and see if there are any other problems but hopefully there won't be. I did email Dan Wesson asking them what their thoughts were and what my options are so we'll see what they say. I think my Kimber thumb safety has just spoiled me as it's perfect.
  18. I just picked up my DWX and it’s great except that the safety is a bit spongy. My Kimber snaps in and off with authority and the DWX doesn’t. Off is pretty defined, however, on is really spongy. In looking it appears that the issue is as described here where the "divot" in the safety when in the "off" position doesn't line up with the detent very well. http://girlgoesbang.com/how-to-fix-a-soft-safety/index.html
  19. My brother may not like that idea
  20. Yeah, I have a problem However, a lack of magazines isn’t one of them
  21. I'm a magazine hoarder and just grabbed 10 more of the CZ 11440 19rd mags to squirrel away as I got them for $28ea shipped. I'm stopping now as I'm pretty sure that 37 magazines between the P-09 and the DWX is going to be enough.
  22. I’m joining the club as my Dad wants to buy one for me as he knows I’ve been wanting one for years. I managed to grab the last one from Top Gun Supply for $2099. They’re getting hard to find now, especially for MSRP or less. I finally have a reason to own the 23 spare P10F mags that I bought 3 years ago now
