  1. I have heard this problem before. All you members if you are going to pay a gunsmith for an Open Gun. Wait until you have the money for a known gunsmith. There are many out there and not to mention all of them is unfair. I have three at this time and all run great.Absolutely no problems at all. You still get what you pay for. I have been exactly where you are right now. A local gunsmith built a Caspian frame into Open and cost me another $2000.00. It was a piece of junk.Good luck with your Open Gun. They are unlike any other pistol.

  2. In reference of all bags. They all are not that great. And I have had them all. If I had the material I would make a bag better than any of them. Almost all of them where they sew the cloth comes apart. Some have only one line of thread going through it. The handles are the first thing to come apart. From now on I will buy cheap bags and throw them out after each year. Sorry for the rant ladies and gentleman.

  3. I have both CR Speed belts and Safariland Belts and holsters. Don't ask me why but I am liking the Safariland stuff better. I have many old belts and holsters. Almost all are Safariland. I must say that the mag pouches are better than CR Speed. I also have Ghost holsters and Limcat. Have not tried DAA Master Holster or belts,Yet.

  4. I have three Open Guns,Gans,Bedell and Innovative Customs.Lately I have been shooting Jim's,Innovative Customs Gun. It does not have all the flash stuff but it runs all day and all night. Jim works all by himself and he is about 8 months for a new pistol. I think the price is around $2700 to $3000 or around there. But I remember what he said when I received the Open Pistol: Shoot the hell out of it. It will not jam. You will not be disappointed by Gans,Bedell or Innovative Custom.

  5. Check Arredondo Manufacturing .I ordered four belt keepers from him. They also work quite well. Arredondo has been making parts for many years. The keepers only cost $4.50 each. They may help you also and they don't wear out like Velcro.

  6. I have sent many pistols to Metaloy Industries Inc for 15 years. I even sent him one when a known gunsmith warned me not to hard chrome it. Chris Peters has been hard chroming guns for years. He also worked for a very great gunsmith.

E-Mail Chris at metaloy@alltel.net or www.originalmetaloy.com. phone 870-423-4225. I am sure you will not be sorry for having Chris hard chrome your pistol.

  7. Sitting in front of a picture from 1995 of myself and a friend who were ready to start a match shows my old Caspian open gun. This was made by George Smith of EGW. The comp was the same size of the slide. It had a full profile comp and the comp had three chambers. It was made at 1992 and cost about $2200.00. It was a very accurate and reliable. I think this is the same comp or one like it. The caliber was 38 Super. It still runs today.

  8. Take a look at DSA Rifles. They work quite well. Any barrel, stock or sight will work. The rifle will last so many years you will love it. IT Kills Zombies no matter what. It has touched the elephant nightmare world many times. And I don't mean the four feet type.

  9. I have four 140 mags and one 170 mag. Each have new Grams followers and springs. How much would you like to pay for them?

Due to some unexpected medical bills(insurance sucks) I cannot purchase the 170mm of you right now. But soon as I get caught up I'll PM you. How many 9mm can You get in your 170mm ? And is it reliable?

All have been tuned by a known gunsmith. The 170 holds 28.

  10. Since I started shooting IPSC in the old world of the 90s. All my guns are hard chromed. I do remove all the small parts because they don't need hard chrome. I have no jams,no broken parts. I have three Open pistols built by Gans,Innovative Customs Guns, and Bedell. There is many types of finishes which are great beside hard chrome. All my pistols were hard chromed by Metaloy Industries Inc.
