  1. I definately agree with Kelly. Running a great three gun and running an organization are two different things. Mystery Mountain is a great match, but I believe with Voigt at the helm USPSA will eventually get squared away. With actual shooters taking over only good is bound to happen...

I also agree with Kelly on IDPA, too bad Bill is in charge, IDPA could be a great organization... didn't work for the Germans either........LOL

  2. Thank goodness we have Mike Voigt as "The Man". We may actually make some progress with these ideas.

I think rifle is really the only weapon where the scope no scope issue is a problem. If we allow people to shoot race pistols for Tactical we may be entering bizzaro world. Even a shotgun with an optic is somewhat realistic, whereas a pistol with optics other than some small optima type sight, is made for the movies.

Scoring open sights and scope seperately but lumping them together for overall is cool. It has worked well for SOF as far as I know.

  3. Steel No Shoots have worked well for the NC Tactical 3 Gun Championships. If the No Shoot falls you receive the penalty. It may not be perfect but it is consistent.

As far as optics. One optic of your choice for the whole match. And please don't create a bogus, used in the military, list. US Optics is approved for SOF and I have never seen any soldier to date that would carry that ginormous scope for real.

Major rifle should be a viable category. We need innovation in the big guns. Competition shooters are the most sadistic, crazy, try it, it might work, guys and gals out there.... They push the limits...

Grounding loaded firearms... I recently tested a theory of mine. I loaded three weapons, laid them on the ground and stepped back. After complete bordem had set in, not a single weapon had went off.

Safety is great. But having a competitor speed clear his weapon is crazy. I have been to matches where they allow the shooter to drop the mag and blast the last round out into the heavens, or at least near the berm, before they continue to the next shooting position. Come On.... How Practical is this, and how safe...

  4. NC Tactical 3 Gun Match will definately remind you of the SOF matches of yesteryear.  We have a great staff of RO's that are actually shooters, we apply common sense to the rules and regulations for the match, and we give you interesting stages that are promised to be challenging........... and for those of you with rope Phobias, don't worry the lawyer says I am not allowed to use any rope for 1 year...........  Hope to see you at the match, only 25 guns on the prize table this year......Kyle
