Anyone using cut down federal cases (38 special to short colt)?
-
I shot a steel match today, first time I shot 625 in along time. Forget how much fun it is shoot. Had to make some reload but still a lot of fun to shoot. Rich

Does you holster cover the trigger guard? If so, all you need are pouches for your speed loader to get started. Don't going out and
spend a lot of money until you shoot some matchs and see if you like the game. Rich

A well known shooter uses the Warne Maxima base, minus the front sight that is built into the base, and has a 1/2" tall front sight on the end of the barrel. For the red dot he has a tube type scope on a qd mount. I believe he said that Apex made the tall front sight. I'm not sure who made the qd mount. I've been meaning to setup the same thing but haven't yet.
The Brownell's number for the Warme scope mount is 947-000-101WB, I just ordered one and it is on back order at this time. I understand that you use the 929 rear sight and you need a 1/2 front sight.

Yes, 6 targets, 36 shots in 36 seconds.

You guys have seen the video of Bill Zeller shooting a USPSA match with a Webley top-break and .45 ACP moonclips, right?
I can't find it on Youtube, but maybe Bill will see this and post a link....
I think I found it. Is this the one Mike?
That looks like fun!
The engineer in me keeps think about a moonclip server/holder that would allow you to load that gun without touching the moonclips. Just open the gun, scoop it pass the server loading the moonclip direct into the cylinder then shut the gun and blaze away. Probably wouldn't work but it might... and then it would be fast.
If we got modern production going there is no reason we could not make an 8-shot minor version too. The Mark VI will use standard 625 moonclip so there is probably enough room in the frame for an 8-shot 38-special cylinder (probably not long enough for 357 Mag).
Anyone know if prints for the Mark VI exist in the public domain? or even for purchase.
How about 8 shot 9mm.

We have a young man at SLOSA ICORE that shoot a Colt and does very well with it. He shoot ICORE Classie. I'll try to get more info and post later.

I had a 586, 686, and a 7 shot cylinder that I can use in either gun all cut for moon clips.
I find three advantages for moon clipping revolver:
1. Faster reloads
2. I get all my brass back
3 NO death jam, i.e. no cases under the ejector.

This is what has changed:
was: over time shot 10 second penalty
is: for far neat only over time shot 6 second penalty
clock time 10.30 seconds on a 10 second string is not over time
clock time 10.31 seconds on a 10 second string is over time and you will receive a penalty.

I had the same problem, found out that I over tighten and slip the threaded end of the ejector. I now use clear fingernail polish.

OK, the last time I checked (which was a couple years ago), you had to re-classify every year, or some such thing.
Now when I look at the ICORE website, it appears that classifications are continuing from year to year, and are suspended when the membership expires but reinstated when the membership is renewed. Is this correct?
You do not need to shoot four classifiers per year to remain classifier. The four classifiera year requirement was drop about five years ago.
If you would like a official ICORE answer send am e-mail to the Rules Director.

Great moon clip holder, good for it!!

I would go back to shooting IPSC/USPSA, if there was open revolver.

Go to the ICORE web sit under "about us", BOD, and Match Series Director, his phone number is there. You can call him with you question.

A picture of the rattler would be OK.

I have a RCBS tool, and damn that a like work but it does work.

I load 38 special and 38 long colt on a dillon 650 and double press the primer, I drop check and run my finger nail over the primer felling to see
if the primer pocket rim below, if so the round is good. I now load 45 acp for revolver on a dillon 550 and I'm not fairing as well as with the 38/650. Not sure what to do at this point.

Classifier match will start at 8:00 am at the cowboy ranch on Thursday. Start shooting in the am at 7:00 and pm 1:00 pm. You will shoot half days. If am on Friday, then pm on Saturday. Pm Friday then am on Saturday.-RichAnyone know what time they will be shooting the classifier stages on Thursday at the IRC? Also, What is the Friday, Saturday schedule like? My first time and trying to make plans for visiting family when I'm there. Thanks, Mark

Pin shooter, I think I go along with you on this one. The 50yd string on F&N is the make or break for a great score. I don't think the majority of top shooters can shoot 25,10& 3 (30x) fast enough to make up for an average 50yd string. If the weather is kind to IRC I think the winning score on F&N will be between 1 and 3 seconds. No one will zero the stage.
As Bubber says F&N is a great stage to include on any practice session.
No IRC stage preview this year ! Then get out there and practice elements that are out of your comfort zone. Distance shots, partial targets, strong & weak hand, out of position, draws, reloads static and moving, get some steel practice in. In practice try and cover every skill aspect that could be thrown at you in an IRC stage.
Hope you boys enjoy the IRC this year........

Ron Joslin(MD), Pete Levakis(RO) and Rich Richards are in SLO to start setting up the atch and the weather is great.

Have been searching Brownell's and Numerich's to no avail. I'm not good with catalouges. I have a 686-5 and looking for a forged hammer for an L frame with the firing pin mounted in the frame. Even though the MIM parts are quite servicable I would rather go with the forged steel. Does anyone know the part number if Brownell's has any? Needing the sear and sear spring also. I know Randy makes a great hammer now for the L frame but wanting to try stock stuff for a while longer. Thanx rdd
Hey Bubber
I have a couple of hammers laying around, If you want, I can bring them to the Southern and you can check them out.
If one works for you, its your. Rich

Thanks for the reply, Chris. I kind of figured that barrel would be too heavy to swing and stop with any speed but It's such a nice gun I was hoping to be able to use it more than once a month (at best). I've got a S&W 19 that I could use for IDPA if I decide to try that sport. The only other DA revolver I own is a S&W 629 but don't know if anyone uses that gun for any action shooting sports. I haven't found a near by range that shoots ICORE and only one that shoots PPC. I live between San Francisco and Sacramento so if anyone knows of an ICORE range within an hour or so of the Ca. Delta area please let me know.
Kim
Just looked on the ICORE web page and there are two clubs you can look up.
1. Richmond Hotwheels in the bay area.
2. A club in Gridley north of Sacramento of the 99.
