Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I am seriously considering purchasing a (Ruger) rifle in the near future. I have narrowed it down to either a .308 or .300Winchester. I am looking at doing some long range target shooting and might even hunt with it. It goes without saying I will be loading my own ammunition. Any suggestions? Pros and cons? Thanks. Keary
  2. Hello. On the contrary, I have found N350 to be my 45acp powder of choice. With N350, I was able to safely reproduce factory load velocities in my stock H&K USP45 and G21. For some odd reason, N350 is super accurate in both guns. As for recoil, I notice very little added felt recoil with N350 versus N320. My advice is try a pound of N350 and see how it works for you. Good luck and safe shooting. Keary
  3. Vihtavuori's website has a whole new look to it. While I do like the change, I cannot access the loading data for some reason. Is anybody else running into this problem? I have used two different browsers and neither worked.
  4. I have had excellent results with VihtaVuori N320 with a variety of 230gr RN bullets. With VV N320, I do not get any unburnt powder grains and next to no residue. I use 5.0 grains with an OAL of 1.250". As I do not own a chronograph, I cannot tell you what the load's velocities are however I have found this load to be accurate with soft recoil. Good luck. 5. Having used a wide variety of smokeless pistol powders from nearly all of the manufacturers, I now use VV smokeless powders exclusively in all of my loads. VV powder burns exceptionaly clean in all of guns - there is no unburnt powder and next to no residue leftover in the barrel. What I like best about VV powder is that it meters very consistantly (+/- .1gr) in my Dillon powder measure. I am not sure how much of a hurry you are in, as I would recommend picking some up at a gun show. The hazmat charge along with the shipping cost makes it too expensive to order online. AtoZ Reloading out of Indy sells all of the VV powders and they usually make quite a few gun shows outside of Indy. Good luck. Keary
  6. I own and regularly shoot several models of Glock and SA. No matter what gun I shoot, my groups are always low and to the left of the outer most ring. I have every reason to believe that I am the culprit here. What I am doing wrong here? I am not a competition shooter by any means however I do want to improve my accuracy and then some. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Keary
