Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. It all came down to reloading mulitiple calibers on a single press. Its faster to change calibers over and cheaper on the 550. Actually a friend of mine just had a realitive die and I'm getting a second 550B fully loaded evern with a case feeder for cheap. So now I'm going to have one for pistol calibers and one for my .223. Now I wish I got the 650 for the rifle case feeder.
  2. My service rifle load for 200 and 300 yards is a 77 Sierra with 25.0 grains of Varget. Like everyone else has stated start low and work your way up. Try 23.5 to start and go up in .2 increments. I found that the higher velocity I went the more accurate this load became. I have shot the 90 Sierra but it will not load in a magazine. I shoot both the 80 and 90 grain sierra at 600 and have had good luck with both. I actually went back to the 80's because of the cheaper price. I didn't see alot of difference but both are good bullets. I am about to start loading my 200 and 300 yard ammo on my new 550B but I'm worried about the Varget not metering very consistent through the powder measure. I'm still going to load my long range ammo on the single stage press.
  3. Well...I built a more sturdy reloading bench this weekend getting ready for my 550B to arrive... Can't wait to start pumping out some rounds.
  4. I've owned multipe White oak 1:7 twist barrels and they are always top notch. I shoot high power and only use 1:7 twist barrels. Some have even gone to the 1:6.5 barrels to shoot the 90 grain bullets. My White oak will shoot the 90 grains just fine and will also shoot 55 grain bullets just as well. Very good barrels and they last a long time (5,000 rounds or so).
  5. Ok so its like a small base die.
  6. I've been reloading for awhile but never heard of an Udie or EGW. Talked to Brian today and he recommended the 550B. Placed the order today.
  7. I will be buying from Brian. He has already sent me an e-mail and asked me to call him so he can set me up right.
  8. Guys, I'm buying a 650 and want to make sure I have everything before I place the order. This reloader will be used for highpower shooting and IDPA/IPSC shooting. At the beginning it will be for 9mm and 5.56mm. I've been reloading approximately 8,000 - 10,000 rounds per year on a single stage press. A progressive is really going to speed me up. I haven't been shooting as much because it takes me so long to reload. I already have all the basics like electronic powder measures, calipers and other odds and ends. I also have all the .223 dies but not the 9mm dies. Does this list look like all I need? Anything else that would make the process faster? Anything I don't need? $489.95 - XL 650 $57.95 - Dies (9mm) $194.95 - Casefeeder $74.95 - Priming Quick-change assembly $36.95 - Roller Handle, Aluminum $35.95 - Strong Mount, (650 only) $34.95 - Bullet Tray $74.95 - 650 Priming Quick-Change assembly Caliber conversion kit Deluxe Quick-Change Kit
