  1. unless something has changed the hammer, and hammer spring a very big YES, there was over stuff but I not remember for sure and do not want to give some wrong info.

if the VM was bought new by u and less than a year ago. remtington just gave me the parts under the warranty, I called to buy parts and got them free.

  2. I have not lived in Texas for 40 years or so. but even then Hunting was all about the MONEY, my grandfather had a lease before I was born and almost till he passed. I do remember that where some day leases around us and back then they went for about $75 a day.

but I can also remember my mom putting me on a grey hound bus with my 22 mag in a soft case to go deer hunting with Him. great memories!

  3. I bought the 1919 used and the owner said it had about 4000 rounds thru it. I do not know much about 1919 but I am sure it is/was all Firebird. as near as I can tell the only thing that was stock was the plastic lower.

I have only had it for about 16 months and still have not got to shoot it at match. do to health reasons. I did show up for last year's pro/am just could not shoot the match. I have only put it about 200 rounds thru it.

it still does not have the O-ring on the gas piston.

it will shoot 2.5 dram stuff even before it was fixed correctly.

M1778, thanks and yes its running great, now just to get myself up and rolling :)

on a side note last fall my neighbor killed a jake with it with some federal 100 pack from wally world that I gave him to use.

  4. last August the bolt carrier on my Firebird broke along with the rubber O-ring on the gas piston. just about 2 weeks before a big match. called Firebird several times and the recording said something like leave a message and we will call a back in a few hours, nothing, e-mail nothing. I called tooth and nail, Matt did not have any bolt carriers in stock but sent me one from one of his guns and a new gas piston. well firebird being a custom gun nothing fit and no rubber O-ring. I got the carrier wielded locally the wields were a tad wide but some loving hammer taps I got forearm on. and the gun ran fine. at some point I notice the barrel had some side to side movement but was solid up and down. again I called Matt he had no idea why. I eventually sent the firebird to be repair correctly and put his S.A.S lower on it. because of his great customer service. no I never did try firebird C.S at a later date

I been having trouble with posting a picture so here goes nothing

    thanks tooth and nail.

  5. I'm Michaels partner for the team match, so I'll fill you in a little. The match date is May 3rd, and it's coming up fast. I had to remount my scope, so I need to get back to the range. Michael and I will be meeting up at least one more time for a practice session, and to get things figured out. We are both new to the long range game, so we will see how it goes. I think it will be an educational experience for both of us.

That's a cool set up you have for your shooting. What kind of rifle and scope are you shooting?

We will be learning on the job, to some extent. Fortunately, Steve and I had a chance to go to the match location on an open range day. Not surprisingly, we exposed how the sketchy zero on my rifle made it harder to make hits past 200-300 yards. I think we will get it sorted out nicely on our next range day at a local "formal" range with good targets for doing the zero work.

We will let you know how it goes. :D

    thanks

  6. I wouldn't call it junky. If you are hitting nickels at 400, maybe I need to look at a table like that! What kind of mount is that on your scope. It looks like you need to get it raised up some to work, so what did you do to get it up like that?

it was with my old table that I hit the nickel with. it was smaller but heavy and uncomfortable and needed a trailer to take it to the range. with no room to adjust my position.

on the mounts, on the gun is a EGW 0MOA then a weaver riser moved to the rear and on top of that is a LaRue mounted backwards. because I no longer have the ability to lean into the gun.

  7. here is my final fix for a shooting table for me, I hope! its look junky but it is light weight and easy for my wife to break down and carry. despite its looks it is solid and the swivel bipod with the level on the scope takes care of leveling issues. plus it fits in the van without a trailer.

  8. GREAT News for the 2014 Brownells Rockcastle Pro Am 3 Gun Championship. DSG Arms wanted to support the match by paying for the match shirts. Every shooter will receive a free match shirt, and RO's too! Those who paid in advance for the shirt will have the option at registration of getting their money back, or trading out for a cool new Rockcastle Shooting Center t-shirt. Everyone contact DSG Arms, visit their website or Facebook, say thank you, and buy some stuff to shoot the match. You're going to need some awesome gear for this one!

Sweet. Big thanks to DSG Arms.

I call them and told them a very big thanks
