  1. I am wondering if any body else has tried the Wilson Combat barrel? I got because they where the only ones who had a threaded barrel in stock with a 1 x 16 twist in stock. and compared to  the storm lakes and KKM I have had its that is way over built and I am loving it. I am the wrong one to try and say how well groups. I shake very, very badly, hell I to put my 22 pistol in a vise to it zeroed.

  2. UPDATE

I finally got the full size M & P I bought the TTI +5 base pads. this is to be a fun gun suppressed reaper dip and so this time a steel SSS ESP mag well. got 2 of the 3 mags with the TTI bases to work easy. on the last one got so pissed broke out the dremmel to very thing. I was giving up then had a wild idea try a different mag body. BE DXMN THAT WAS THE ISSUE.

  3. Change the phase 5 bolt release for a standard one and see what happens....

I have the same barrel with JP LMOS carrier and have no issues with bolt locking back on either TACCOM, std carbine buffer and gas set in the middle of the operating range...

    Mick

thanks, this is the kind of info i was wanting to learn. i do not use the "bad lever" so don't have any compare. the 1 piece phase 5 comes in at 0.75 oz's and the standard AR bolt release comes in at 0.42 ozs. i would have never thought to even look at that.

its just wild to me that the extra weight on the bolt release would be the issue.

    thanks.

  4. I do agree with what u are saying about the rifle length gas system on a 16" barrel but this one has been unstoppable so far no matter the ammo or mag I use. but still wondering even when I had the 18" I could not use a lighter carbine buffer. no matter the recoil spring, be it JP ground, standard M4 or my favorite TUBBS flat wire spring.

I am assuming that u use a 4 oz BC so what did u do to make it work?

  5. For what it's worth my gun will not lock back if my magpul BAD lever loosens up and stops the mag catch from catching. Other than that why mess with taking weights out of the buffer when you can run the JP Silent capture spring or the taccom light weight buffer? Also some people have erratic issues if they did not line up their gasblock correctly with their gas port. I would take my gass block off and make double triple sure it is aligned correctly then I would go from there. If you have a misaligned gasport even at "full" gas you may be off by enough to not be able to correctly gas your system. Sine you're starting over just buy a JP upper and you can be guaranteed it is done correctly.

my bolt release is the one piece phase 5. i already had a 2.48 oz buffer. so how would a taccom light weight work when a 2,48 oz buffer will not. i am sure the gas block placement is correct because the 16" rifle length upper is almost impossible stop it from running. the gas block set screw is just very short of being close

  6. several years ago I was running a 18" WOA rifle length with a JP LMOS BCG. I tried taking a 1/2 oz out of the carbine buffer and it ran super soft. it just would not lock back when the mag went dry.

now I have a VOODOO lite barrel 16.25" with the rifle length gas system with a JPLMOS BC. and all the talk about new 4 oz BC's I thought I would try again to take some weight out of the carbine buffer. got the same result, very soft and ran great but will not lock back on empty mag. also in both cases I had the gas block set screw fully open to the point I was lucky it did not get blown out.

SOOO how does the AR DI platform run with a 4 oz BC?

side note. after I got hurt the WOA set up was way to heavy for me so I sold it.

    thanks

  7. GOT IT!!!!

using a small hand file set, only on the brass mag well. filed on both rear corners and were the rear of the mag well meets the frame. 2 out of 3 worked great. on the 3rd I had to remove most of the hump at the rear were the mounting screw goes, now all is well. did not do any work on the frame. that may come later.

    thanks everyone

  8. Here's a dumb question, do you have any stippling or grip tape near the bottom of the front strap? I found out that I had to trim mine a little otherwise it wouldn't fit right at all.

no, just the stock large palm swell, but i will check it out. have not gotten that far yet.

  9. okay i tried remounting the mag well with some love taps (8# weight ) no change. but i noticed if the mounting screw is not in or very loose. i can with 1 hand seat the mag and PULL the mag out with 1 hand. a soon as the mounting screw starts to get snug, i need the pry the mag out. here's a look at the mag well.

It's not fully seated to the rear. There is too much of the grip frame showing. Here's what mine looks like. The filing is to blend the pistol opening and the well, the mags fit fine before filing, I just don't want them to snag when I'm reloading.

Here's a TTI mag that fits fine. There are a couple of marks, but all my mags have marks in varying degrees (depends on how many matches I've put them through)

Here's a picture of the rear of the well from the outside. I think if you compare it to yours you will find that little ledge at the top is not visible in the back. (at least the other one I saw this week with the same problem was not visible)

I will say that the limited magwell was more difficult than any of the ESP magwells I've installed (3), IIRC I had to sand just a bit of a bevel to the plastic to get the well to go over the end of the grip. Your experience with tightening the screw makes sense because it is angled and when you tighten it, it pulls the well forward. Good luck, keep at it.

i can not figure how to mount it differently - move it to rear. it looks like may end up putting a file to it.

  11. during the Benos sale I bought 3 TTI +5 bases and thank you for the sale. they do not fit my new SSS large brass new style mag well. if I get it seated. it takes me holding the gun and my wife the pulling the mag, a screw driver was used on my other tries. the TF +5 easy in and drop free.

I tried the TTI in my old style (from about 6 years ago) large limited brass mag well easy in and drop free, same on SSS ESP style mag wells.

u can see on the new large brass limited mag well were the TTI gets stuck in both rear corners, the black is gone.

    idea's.

    thanks

  12. I have not shot either thru a chrono yet. the pro when it comes back from being reported will be easy compare since we have a few the full size was never seen a chrono as it still fairly new and its the only one we have.

but will reported the numbers when the Pro comes back.

  13. when the full size upper was gone being ported I put the FSS into it and I tried for days to get it to run with the comp springs that were already in the gun. when I finally put the FSS springs into it I was unhappy with the pull weight but the gun ran. finally got it down to 2# and running great

  14. no, it was not drilled, just can not recall the term she used.

the pro shoots very nice. the full size with quad porting seems to have a little more recoil than I was expecting I need to get a 13# spring for it. with a 15# spring the gamer loads just enough to make it run mostly. :)

  15. i kinda fell into a slump and had not been on here for awhile. reading about the mag-a-porting got me to thinking. so i sent 2 of my M & P's to be ported. the Pro got 6 ports there a little smaller than i imagined they called and told me about the bit they would be using but it was all Greek to me. they called me and said they got one port a little off so it would be free. there little off seemed like a lot to me, but free is free. the full size was quad ported. they are both 9 mm.

  16. Hello,

I know this is old, but does anyone have a link to somewhere where I can get a mount to fit a quicky Q7 wheelchair. I would like to start competing again in action shooting.

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

i do know about the Q7, but you do as it did and just ask blade tec if they would send u a sample of there TMMS. the female part is always on my chair. with or without a gun. and i have 3 of the male parts. each for different uses that stays mounted to the hostlers, carry, production and limited/open. good luck
