  1. Hi all, Shoot'n Score It (SSI) now generates 'palm equivalent' files that you can import *to* EzWinScore. To download from SSI go to a match you organize and do 'reports score sheets' - ezwinscore - download. You will now download a zip file containing all separate files needed. There are also some instructions on the web for how to import this into EWS. At this moment the usage is somewhat limited as when you import the information to EzWinScore you can import stages, but when trying to import scores it requires competitors to exist in EWS (and in current release of EWS import of competitor registrations is not supported but this is on its way if I am correctly informed). When this is supported in EWS you can import everything from SSI to EWS. / Jens
  2. Which folder this is can be found when starting EWS and then under 'setup' - 'match info' - 'palm' / Jens
  3. Great, from what I understand so anything in the folder where the palm files are located will be great! I am already generating files that should be ok but there is something around tab/carrige return linefeed that is not correct and any 'original' files to look at will make it so much easier ! / Jens
  4. Yep, but I really do need some example files to be able to re-engineer the final details of the format and verify that this works. If there are any around that I can get then it is just a matter of a few hours of work and this is done. / Jens
  5. Update to all on this thread --- Shoot'n Score It now generates 'palm-equivalent' files to import into EzWinScore in 'beta' release (as in you can use it but do not yet recommend you use it for a live match). To use this -- generate a match in SSI, score it... etc. Then under 'reports and scoresheets' there is a link EzWinScore. From there you can generate a zip file that will be downloaded, unzip this and you have all the 'palm' files and they can be imported into EWS This is where you come in, the files are generated to what I understand to be the Palm-formats for the different files but there are still minor issues that prevents this from going through and I am troubleshooting this right now. Any help or existing palm files Scores.txt, Stages_extra.txt, Stages.txt that you have around and can email me at jens@twostorysoftware.com will help getting this done before the weekend !!! Will let you know when I feel this is working ok and remove the 'beta' tag. / Jens
  6. Uhh the files dropped into the directory for palm scoring are pretty basic text files. I've created them by hand. It wouldn't be too hard to make an application that just dropped files of that format in a directory you tell ezwinscore is there for a palm. That a palm wasn't used to generate that file is kind of irrelevant. Could you send me PM with some of these file if you have any around. Would like to see what can be done, might be a way for Shoot'n Score It to interop with EWS. / Jens
  7. Currently investigating how the next release of EWS that will handle imports can allow for this. With previous versions of EWS it turned out possible but to be large effort and would require developing a separate windows program to install that would perform the actual update of database file of EWS. This together with doing WinMSS integration and CED Timer integration has taken all spare time during the summer but now the time :-) has come to EWS ! mvh / Jens
  8. Shoot'n Score It is now support the CED 7000 Pro timer for IPSC/USPSA and Steel Challenge for importing/exporting match and scoring info. You can create the match, stages, allow competitors to register on the web. Then you simply export the match information file to one or more CED 7000 timers and use these as RO on the stages and record the scores. Then you partially or when completed upload the scores to Shoot'n Score It again and generate the results. This takes away the manual entering of score sheets as RO and the duplicate manual entering them into your scoring software. In essence -- saves lots of time and reduces the risk for manual error as it reduces the steps needed to enter results. To use this for a match - click on 'reports and score sheets' - 'CED 7000 Pro' and follow instructions. http://shootnscoreit.com / Jens
  9. Sign-up and usage is all free, think the best way to see it is just sign-up and 'create IDPA' match. If you want to keep this match for you personally to play with and see how it works remember to uncheck the 'public' check-box. If a match is public anyone can see/search for it. I think you will understand what to do when you see thing, just create stages as you need. Under 'Invite to match' you find a web link you can add to your club web page and have shooters self register. You can also fill out the form and email them directly this link (to a email list). If you need anything or add stuff, just drop me an email and I will take care of it ! / Jens
  10. First, BeachBunny SW works great ! SSI takes a different approach being completely web-based service; You can use it from PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android...... You do not need to host it yourself - it is always available under http://shootnscoreit.com When organizing a match using SSI you can access the match from anywhere using anything with a web browser in it. Great if you need to be on top of thing from home/work/..... SSI allows you to create the match and all stages and then have shooters self-register, self-squad and more. SSI helps you to keep track of payments and offer merchandize such as match ammo, t-shirts, lunch tickets and have shooter 'buy' them from the web and you can then keep track of payments for this. For the actual match you can print pdf files with scoresheets (shooter name, number, squad... filled in), match results or verification lists. As organizer you can also really easy send out emails to competitors with information or results. All results are kept in SSI and available so you do not need to upload or keep this information on you club web or other... / Jens
  11. You can now use Shoot'n Score It (SSI) and WinMSS together. It is now possible to generate a backup-file of a match from SSI that will include all details from the match (match data, competitors, stages, scoring, squads, teams etc) on a format that can be directly imported into WinMSS. This be of benefit in the following scenarios; (1) You feel you need a back-up solution to only using SSI. Then use SSI for the complete match but take regular backups. In case of any problems (e.g. lost internet access at range) you can install the backup on a local PC running WinMSS. (2) No Internet access at the range yet want to have web based registration and other features from SSI. You can then use SSI to organize the match, have people self register/squad/team etc and arrange for the match shop (merch, match ammo, t-shirts, ....), track payments from SSI and then you do a backup of the match and install this at the range and do all scoring locally using WinMSS there. (3) Upload ICS results from SSI Create back-up and import to WinMSS, then register classifier results from WinMSS with ipsc.org To use this feature you simply generate the backup file under 'the match you organize' - 'reports and scoresheets' - download backup for WinMSS. Detailed instructions are included. WinMSS - the officially approved scoring software by ipsc.org. Can be downloaded from www.ipsc.org Shoot'n Score It - free web match arrangement/scoring/result... service for IPSC, USPSA, IDPA, Steel and PPC. Officially approved in many IPSC regions for usage. http://shootnscoreit.com / Jens
  12. If you do your matches in Shoot'n Score It - http://shootnscoreit.com you can generate .pdf files with competitor details and adapted to amount of targets on stage etc. / Jens
  13. Please visit Shoot'n Score It. http://shootnscoreit.com This is a free match arrangement/scoring/result/squad.... service that supports IDPA, IPSC, USPSA, PPC, Steel Challenge... Allows you to create a match, simply send out a link to match and have all shooters self-register and self-squad etc. Also genererates .pdf scoresheets with name/div/details... mvh / Jens
  14. IDPA is now fully supported by SSI, both Handgun Matches and DMG/Defensive Multi Gun matches according to all the latest rules and appendixes. / Jens
  15. Shoot'n Score It now supports IDPA. As of this week SSI have added IDPA Handgun and IDPA Defensive Multi-Gun to the range of supported shooting sports (IPSC, USPSA, PPC and Steel). IDPA is fully supported under latest rules (2011) and SSI is a free shooting service helping shooters arrange matches world-wide. http://shootnscoreit.com / Jens
  16. Sorry for being late to reply. The above requirements are handled and already fully supported in SSI. (1) - only users that are part of the organizing group can enter scores. SSI also separates between two roles as organizer; admin or staff. As admin you can do anything with a match. As staff you can only enter scores and some limited actions. The intention is that staff shall not need to learn as much and can not do much harm in case they make a mistake. So, you as organizer can assign multiple persons as staff to speed up entering of scores. (these 'groups' can then be saved and reused for later matches, good for your club as it tends to be same people everytime that helps out so no need to set it up again). (2) - you can restrict the visibility of the results so they are not visible at all, and then you allow them to be visible (after the price ceremony). (3) - anyone can view the stage score. (4) - as organizer you can always view who has updated the information about a specific score sheet, stage etc. with name/time (5) SSI works well on any smartphone already. (for those technically iinterested SSI implements a full RBAC security model) mvh / Jens
  17. Great, feel free to do this. You find everything on http://shootnscoreit.com where you create your match/stages and then get people to self-register. Once this is done you can print out pre-filled pdf paper scoresheets and shoot and then go back and enter the scores in the system and get the results out. If you have any ideas/questions/improvments... email me at jens@twostorysoftware.com FYI currently working on adding IDPA support for both handgun and DMG matches and this will done within the next week or so... / Jens
  18. Thanks all for the comments, have started to compile a list and do some estimates. Short question - do you feel the requirements would / could be limited to approve SSI as-is if such approval was restricted to ONLY Level I / II matches. mvh / Jens
  19. Envision two tracks here - the one is to add offline or online scoring from cellphones for matches, the other track is more about cool apps for the individual shooter when training or similar. Open for requests and ideas as always ! / Jens
  20. Hi, looking for any fellow shooter and software developer who would like to get involved in what will be the coolest shooting app for smartphones ever... Prereqs are iPhone/Android development, GUI, open source, git hub et al. If you have the skills - get in touch with me (PM/email) and we can have a skype call and discuss this further. Not sure where to post this general request for help so feel free to shift topic around jens@twostorysoftware.com / Jens
  21. Lots of new features added in the area of supporting the registration and administration of shooters. You can now manage various registration fees, take orders for various merchandize (t-shirts, lunch, match ammo, etc), view total sum to be paid for each shooter, mark paid, handle repayments... On the sport shooting side added support for PPC Cups and Leagues. Currently approved/recommended by various local IPSC regions in the world. Will get in touch with USPSA ! Let me know if there is anything you like to be added. Layout/graphics update will be coming up within the next weeks / Jens
  22. Hi all, here are latest new features in Shoot'n Score It -- the free web based match and cup/league/... service for IPSC, USPSA, PPC and Steel Challenge. http://shootnscore.it Match Shop and registration fees As organizer of a match you can now create various items to be offered to shooters/participants in your match and they can order them from within SSI. For example this will allow you to offer match ammo, meal tickets, t-shirts (size), and registration fees. When creating an item you can state for how long it will be offered, to whom, and more. As a competitor you can order things when you register or simply go to the 'match shop' under a match and register your orders there. As organizer you can always view the current orders from shooters and mark them as paid, delivered etc. The actual payment is currently *not* handled within SSI but integration with PayPal or similar is in development roadmap. Lots of layout features Lots of improvments in the design and layout based on feedback from you users!! One highlight is that all listings are now sortable on one or multiple columns really really easy... Latest PPC rules from 1st January 2011 fully supported WA1500 released an updated rule book for PPC 1st of January and we have updated SSI to support all new things here w.r.t. PPC.
  23. Shoot'n Score It is a free to use web based match arrangment/scoring/registration/.... service supporting IPSC, USPSA, PPC and Steel Challenge. Given its free and globally accessible nature *and* pre-approval with forum admin to announce stuff about SSI - this is not spam/advertisement. http://shootnscore.it/intro Any feedback or further ideas will always be acted upon. / Jens
  24. SSI now supporting IPSC Grand Tournament and USPSA Tournament Shoot'n Score It has now released support for IPSC Grand Tournament and USPSA Tournaments. When creating a IPSC Grand Tournament or USPSA Tournament you can choose to add new component matches or add existing matches as component matches. You can then allow shooters to register for the GT/T serie. Scoring is done in full accordance with current IPSC/USPSA rules (i.e. all competitors in each component match are scored but only those registered in GT/T will be presented in GT/T result list) and lots and lots more... Cup and League series are also supported as previous. Feedback and ideas are always welcome on how to improve SSI. http://shootnscore.it / Jens
  25. Have had exactly the same problem on my 9mm+ STI Grandmaster open gun but after measuring the mag lips it was clear they where for set up for .40, so with careful and loving usage of a hammer I got the lips down and problems disappered for me... If you apply force on mag lips - make sure the do not get to tight up front but more towards the back so the bullet does not start to 'dive'... 38S, 38SC,9mm, 9x23---.355"-.360" 40 S&W---.385"-390" 45ACP---.435"-.445" / Jens
