  1. I got my first STI today and put a couple hundred rounds through it at work and it was shooting about 2" low at 15 yards. What are y'alls reccomendation on an adjustable rear sight? Second, I'm expecting the recoil master to break and as wondering if there are any preferred guide rod set ups out there. Lastly, I'm going to recontour the grip tomorrow when the gun gets back from my smith, who is doing a trigger job, and I don't know whether to stipple to frame or epoxy/sand it. What's the preferred method? whoops, forgot one thing. Who sells a standard length mainspring housing pin? I won't be using the magwell for my class and want to practice my shooting and reloads without it.
  2. I'll probably lighten the trigger up a bit. My carry gun is at 3.5#s and I like it at that or lighter
  3. I was going to pick up a used benny hill gun but the deal fell through so I ended up ordering a tactical from shootersconnection. What should I have done to the gun in regards to reliability and function?
  4. I have a pretty messed up left wrist and hand and was wondering if anyone has ever used one of thse gyroflex balls to build up their hand/wrist strength
  5. What's prefered when the majority of the shooting is done in an indoor range where shooting a plain black sight on black targets is quite common?
  6. The sound doesn't really get to me since im so use to it, im thinking that i'm just so damn set of geting that second shot off that i'm just thinking about mashing that trigger again.
  7. looks like i might end up with a benny hill gun for my first wide body
  8. My dealer also has it, problem is that it's spendy around here.
  9. thank you for the suggestions, ill be sure to try them out
  10. i know not to look at the target, my eyes just can't pick up that front sight after the first shot. I don't know why I can stay focused during a longer string, but not when I'm trying to crank out 2 quick shots.
  11. i'll work on it some more today. Good thing I get to shoot at work when it's slow
  12. I put 150rds down range working on my pairs and i have the hardest freaking time picking up the front sight after the first shot. But, if i'm shooting strings of 10 quickly I can track the front sight, just not on my doubles. Any suggestions?
  13. If i were to get the eagle, what changes would y'all reccomend I have dawson make while i'm ordering it from them?
  14. The edge is not IDPA legal. The Tactical 5.0 is not IDPA legal either but only becuase of the bull barrel. There is no ban on light rails only a ban on full length dust covers. I would go with the edge given your two suggestions b/c it is cheaper and it has adjustable sights. I have a custom made eagle in 9 and I love that thing. I dont see a need for a long dust cover with the 9 but hey if you want it you should get it. I was also looking at the eagle, why do you like it over the edge and tactical?
  15. would you still reccomend the edge if I had no desire to shoot IDPA?
  16. I'm looking to pick up a 1911 in 9mm to train with and to fart around with and was wondering which y'all would reccomend.
  17. hey, thanks guys. Now, what bullets would you reccomend?
  18. I'm in the process of putting a comped .45 together for a fun gun and was wondering what would a good load be. I know i need to make as much pressure as I can. The gun will not be using a fully supported chamber, so it can't get absured.
  19. just double checked and they are finish chambered. And I think i'm going to go with the extra clearance since I do shoot plated bullets on occasion. y'all have been very helpful and i appreciate all of the advice.
  20. i'll be using a kart and they are finish chambered
  21. i thought about the clark kit, but wanted a hard fit barrel.
  22. Poop, I've waited over a month for this comp and originally had a barrel on order with them but kept getting "it'll be another week" and figured I could just have my smith cut down a 6" kart and thread it for me.
  23. the comp is designed to work with a standard bushinged barrel. The comp looks like its drilled out for .355 projectiles but i'm using it for .45
  24. I just recieved an EGW bushing comp for my .45 and was wondering if it was suppose to be under bored and that I would have to have my gun smith bore it out.
