My girlfriend shoots USPSA and is a lefty with very small hands. She currently shoots an XD Tactical in 9MM, but we are looking to go to a smaller frame. A 1911 with slim grips and short trigger seem to fit her best so far, but we need a low thumb safety (like the Gunsite model) for a lefty. Does anyone know where we can get one of these?
Here's what we're looking at for a total package:
-9MM Commander-size slide that has been lightened.
-Full size grip frame (for magazine capacity).
-Slim grips with a 3-4 lb. short trigger.
-Beveled magazine well.
-Adjustable sights
-High grip beavertail safety.
-Ambidextrous low safety with the low safety on the right side for a lefty.
-Ambidextrous magazine release.
-10 round 38 super magazines to use long-loaded 9MMs.
-100% reliability (or as close to it as possible with a 1911).
We'd like to get all of the work done at the same location. Any thoughts or recommendations for a pistolsmith?
