  1. I shot 100 rounds of the Precision One Competition 9mm 124 grain RN today.  There were no malfunctions and they were the softest shooting rounds I've tried.  The PF out of a 4.5 inch barrel will probably be around 130.  Out of my 4.89 inch barrel the PF is 132.

  2. Since I primarily shoot Production division in New Jersey I would prefer that the 10 round limit remain.  After reading the survey results it does not appear that will happen.  Most classifiers do not require more than 10 rounds prior to a mag change, so as long as the clubs that I shoot with only use those classifiers an increase in the number of rounds allowed won't have any practical affect on me.  Now the only question is what do I do if the classifier does not require a reload in less than 10 rounds.  Do I take the time penalty of the mag change or do I just shoot the noshoots to score a zero?  I have to think about that.

  3. Precision One loads a 9mm 124 grain round to USPSA power factors (129 PF out of a 4 inch barrel) ( 9mm 124gr FMJ (REMANUFACTURED) COMPETITION - Precision ONe Ammunition ).  It's not USPSA certified, but should pass chrono.

NC Shooters Supply also loads a 9mm 125 grain round to USPSA power factors (130 PF out of a 5 inch barrel) ( 1000ct 9MM 125gr Minor power factor – NCSHOOTERS SUPPLY ).   It's not USPSA certified, but should pass chrono.

The velocity will be faster out of a 4.5 inch barrel than a 4 inch barrel.  Blazer Brass will work but will probably be close to 140 PF.  You may want to try the Precision One competition ammo.

  5. I'm using the DAA belt and DAA Max holster for my Shadow 2.  Other than the gun handle being slightly higher than I would like when the gun is in the holster, the two together work very well.

  6. Blazer Brass 124 grain is reliable but a little hot at 1090 fps out of a 4 inch barrel (135 PF).  How long is your barrel?  I tried Freedom Munitions 124 grain (new) (1065 fps, 132 PF, 4 inch barrel), but out of a case of 1000 I had one bullet setback and not useable.  I shot 350 of the Freedom Munitions so far and had 1 failure to fire (FTF).  The primer had a deep indentation, so the gun did its job. Because of the FTF I'm hesitant to use the Freedom Munitions for competition.  I'll continue to use them for practice.

I ordered 2 boxes of Precision One 9mm 124 grain competition ammo (1044 fps, 129 PF, 4 inch barrel).  If the rounds fit my CZ Shadow 2 chamber I will order a case and see how reliable they are.  If the Precision One competition ammo is reliable I will use that.  If not, I'll use the Blazer Brass.

  7. I shot my first season of USPSA last year using my Sig Sauer P365 and factory ammo (PF 147).  The best split times I could do was 0.8 seconds, but I learned the rules and trigger discipline.  I also learned what other people were shooting in Production.  For this upcoming season I purchased a CZ Accushadow 2 and I'm using ammo with a 135 PF.  I can easily do split times less than 0.5 seconds with better accuracy using the Accushadow 2.  The Accushadow 2 won't make me win, but I do expect to perform better than last year.  My goal is a 30% decrease in time while maintaining the same accuracy.  We'll see how I do.

  8. Has anyone used the Precision One 9mm 124 grain competition ammo in their CZ Shadow 2 ( 9mm 124gr FMJ (REMANUFACTURED) COMPETITION - Precision ONe Ammunition )?  The Shadow 2 has a short leade and not all ammunition will fit.  I'm currently using Freedom Munitions 124 grain which uses an X-treme bullet.  The Precision One competition is also using an X-treme bullet, so I think it will fit.  I'll need to order a couple boxes to do a plunk test to confirm.

  9. My DAA Max holster for my S2 has solid retention.  Even at the loosest setting the gun will not come out without a strong tug.  I do agree, though, that the rods should be 0.5 inches longer.  The gun sits slightly higher than I would like at the lowest setting, but not enough for me to stop using it.  I'm going to keep mine.

  10. There needs to be at least 1 division with a limited round count (i.e. 10 rounds) for those of us who shoot in restrictive states (i.e. New Jersey).  Preferably there would be at least 1 division with a 10 round limit and iron sights and 1 division with a 10 round limit and optic sights.

    Say you couldn't reload anymore...

What competition-specific ammo (130-ish PF) would you buy?

Anyone have good luck with these?

vote with your wallet... Tell said Ftard to shove it and leave report to Area Director and National HQ to pull this guys sanction for being  a blatant rule violator..
That or cry about it online and do nothing

There's a local match near me where there often is a target set at 179 degrees when the shooter is standing at the back of the shooting area.  I don't shoot there anymore.  I feel the stages are unsafe.  There are plenty of other local matches available that I can go to that have much safer stages.
