I run a safariland els belt, I just got some snowboard binding, cut off the end of my belt that had the 2 posts for securing, then installed the washers and ratchet system, easy enough and seems to be holding up

9.5-9.7gr will get you 167-174pf. 9.6gr is the major match load and has not failed chrono in a couple years.
Awesome, thank you

I have read that SWMP is the same as AA7? I have found that SWMP took 1 grain lees than AA7 for the same velocity.
I like them both, use AA7 because at the time, SWMP was spotty on the market, I've always been able to get AA7.
That's good to hear, thank you, sounds like aa7 is what I'll go with. Just needed a little confirmation on everything

Thank you everyone, yeah itll most likely be 124 jhp, I'm the same, I'm looking to get a load that runs reliably but hangs around the 170-172 PF, this is a winter project I was actually looking forward to! The open gun will be a 2011, so im hoping I can stay around the 1.16 COAL area which is what ive been running for minor loads as well

Getting ready to start loading for 9 major, I've narrowed it down to aa7 or hs6, what's everyone's opinion on which is cleaner, flatter and most of all, available?

A dot would be something I would consider in the future, the dot is obviously quicker but my theory with a CC handgun is keep it simple, my irons are zeroed at 7 yards. However with modern dots I really dont have any skepticism about battery life, durability, etc

I'm pretty sure you'll need a whole new top end, idk that 45 cam be converted to a 40. Considering the cost it may be easier just to buy a whole separate gun for the new endeavor. I cant recommend Springfield or dan wesson enough

Heavy weight and low reps will.deateoy your joints. In my 20s I swore by it but now well into my 30s it makes everything hurt. Happened to me a few months ago and had to start doing lower weight with higher reps and the problem solved itself.

Go ahead and enjoy it fellas/ladies. Tell your wife/husband/chillins it is for their own protection if you need to.
I always tell my wife this is for security/safety reasons if questioned on new toys haha

That's exactly what I've been noticing this last little while, the factory 115s are a little flippy, 147s while seemingly more accurate almost seemed delayed so magtech 124s had been my go to for factory stuff

Are the atlas 9mm 140s really 23 reloadable? I've only ran mbx mags thus far and looking for some cheaper alternatives

I had a reload in my mental stage plan and forgot to during the stage. I opened a door, a moving cover exposed the target and I got a 'click'. Crap, I reloaded and the target was now obscured except for the head shot A zone area. I slowed down and put em both in the head and embarrasingly finished that portion of the stage.
Haha yep! At least you alphaed the head down, my luck itd be a charlie, mike at best

It's pretty hit or miss around nw mo, some nights we'll have 20, which is a busy night, some nights only 8 people sign up

Good shooting! i console myself with the knowledge that the first two seniors in 2021 have 10+ national and world championships each, so they don't really count in my book, lol.
You're right those dont count. The fact we all get lumped in with champion world class shooters makes me kinda wanna quit haha

It would surprise me if a heavier mainspring or firing pin spring would change anything. I would go with a lighter recoil spring and see what that does. It makes complete sense to me that a lighter spring would solve that issue. My 9mm 1911s always seemed over sprung from the factory as well causing muzzle dipping, I usually settled on a 9 or 10 pound

Yeah mine were tight as hell too but after they set loaded for a few days it got easier. I was pretty irritated the first time I could only stuff 22 in as well until I forced it in and now it's all fine. I've decided ny equipment likes to be abused

More capacity is always better, with my shadow 2 I have been using henning 140mm basepads with mbx followers. 24 rounds of goodness and with mine and can barney up for a total of 25. Everything has run 100% thus far

Well not so bright it obscures anything but bright enough that the 2moa dot and curve seem like one big dot. It's an experiment I'm playing with and so far its working
-
I've had a cmc pcc trigger for about a year now and so far its been flawless. I wanna say it's about 3.5 pounds on my scale
-
Thus far I like the center dot with 8 moa circle turned up nice and bright so it almost blends together. Havent had a chance to do much shooting as of yet but I'm pretty optimistic about the 507 comp doing what it does

My .40 2011 hates anything shorter than 1.18, I'd stick with the precision delta stuff you know works

I didn't read the entire thread so this might have been discussed. How about making Limited a minor division with major scoring to make up for not having an optic? FWIW, I am 68 years old and I haven't shot irons in years due to failing vision. Fifteen years ago, I was a GM Limited shooter so I do have a pretty decent handle on skill development with major vs. minor. The better shooters will rise to the top no matter what the power factor.
I....actually support this, considering I've got a couple 40s laying around that I'd lose my ass off if sold, I wonder how well a dot would hold up on a slide ride limited major?

Not sure of current status but took a uspsa survey a few days ago and voted yes on 15 for production. I think its gonna be one of the ways to keep iron sights relevant in uspsa.
Powder comparison

Thank you everyone, being new to loading in 9 major spectrum my question is, why is it 7 grains of one powder and roughly 10 of another? I should add I'm pretty new to reloading in general as well
