Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. The SLR Rifleworks SOLO Ultra Light Series are lightweight, up to 16.5" long and have both Keymod and MLOK avalible. They have nice hand stops for same hand positioning, carbon fiber panels and they make great Adjustable Gasblocks.
  2. Like already mensioned, try some other ammo and just use a bolt to insert and remove it by hand. If the case is tight in the chamer, try to apply some lapping compound on a cotton bore mop and polish the chamer so the bullet will be in a smooth and deburred surface. Something like this from Brownells. http://www.brownells.com/gun-cleaning-chemicals/patches-mops/bore-mops/ar-15-replacement-bore-mops-prod42146.aspx Put the mop in a drill and do that for a few seconds. While your at it, pollish your feed ramps and see if that helps. it might just be a tight camber and if removing the tooling marks and burs, it might help.
  3. On the topic of Gas Guns, the 6.5 Grendel will out shoot the .308, and that depends on the shooter too. JP makes great stuff but you can't compair the 223, 6.5 and 308 Gas Guns to other calibers, that is why there are differnt classes for guns. If the PRS lets you use what ever you want, even the 6mm is more accurate and reaches out further than a 6.5 Grendel. BUT, the Grendel and 308 are also good for hunting and I would grab a Grendel over a .308 any day. JP is coming out soon with there Gredels, is shows that on there site, and I imagine it will be way more accurte than many out there. My Grendel just off a bench at home shooting for fun, I drill 3/4" MOA at 100 yards all day long. Take time and you can do that at 200 yards and bang 6" steel targets at 600 yards with no problem. Many people shoot the Grendel out to 1,000 yards easily. Super Sonic to 1,250 yards with 123gr projectiles. So a 308 will work, but they are heavy (AR-10 platform) and lots of recoil. The AR-15 platform is much lighter and the Grendel is one of the top calibers for long range shooting and hunting. Also the Grendel is out there in bolt guns too but that is where personal preferance comes in. I vote for MSR's (Modern Sporting Rifles, AR-15 for the newbies). I know people who are going from bolt guns to MSR's because of hunting with them is on the rise and that is a big factor in using them more these days.
  4. I modified a DPMS Upper to make a 6.5 Grendel Upper for my Billet Loki. People said it wouldn't work but a local machine shop did it and did it well. if you just take your upper to a machine shop and show them the two, they should be able to help you out. He also made one for a Beowulf build I'll do later this year. Also the Mega SBU has a wide platform on the bottom to fit the Loki lower good so those can be modified too. good luck if you have a Loki, you aren't stuck as much as you think you are, just be creative. 5. I here what your saying about the math but just lookeda t a Leopold 2-12X42 VX-6. Using that math that comes to 42/12+3.5. You would need a 42mm with a power of 7 like a 1-8x42. This would give a 5.25 Exit Pupil. Looking at Trijicon, there scopes are 3x24=8, 3x30,=10, 4x32=8. Gues thats why they have those numbers but there scopes are $1,100 to $1,800 if you want the red dot. Guess you get what you pay for but not the 6x power.
  6. I just got some EZ-takedown pins made by YHM. Mine are black but work so well when trying to break it down, just pull the button. I'm going to Duracoat the entire AR so I'm going to paint all of the take downs, trigger pins, safety and everything one color. I might leave everything black and paint the AR upper and lower a blueish grey called HK-Blue/Grey. Anyhow they also have Titanium and other silver colors you can do the same with. Paint the parts rather than go with Chrome. Then everything would match.
