Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I had to wait a couple of months for my 6" 9mm barrel to come in. The interesting thing about it was that, unlike either my 4.75" .45 and 9mm longslide barrels, the 6" one had polygonal rifling.
  2. I found the webpage on Italian Firearms Group on the new longslide Witness--they're calling it the Bulls Eye: http://www.ifg-usa.com/firearms/bulls-eye/ It's basically a match-quality Hunter in all calibers with lightened slide. I want one to ream to 9x23!
  3. It's not a small frame is it? A CZ75 Tactical Sport barrel can be fit to a small frame and will stick out about .3" past a longslide. No, unfortunately it is a large frame. EAA isn't importing longer barrels yet, but I did see this video about a new Witness Gold Match: http://eaacorp.com/2011/03/witness-elite-series-gold-match-2/ It appears to be very similar to the Witness Hunter, and will come in other calibers beside 10mm and .45. I'd love to have one of those, but in the meantime, just the barrel would be great!
  4. Briley doesn't have any plans to make more Witness barrels. Have sent an email to StormLake to see if they make Witness barrels. Still looking...
  5. Thanks. Will check with Briley. I'd also be willing to trade my 4.75" 9mm barrel for a 6" if anyone has one.
  6. I have a 9mm Witness Match for a dual caliber conversion project with an extra 4.75" 9mm barrel which I will rechamber for 9x23 (along with planned mods for the conversion such as springs, Henning guide rod, 38S mags, etc.) What I really want is a 6" 9mm barrel to rechamber to 9x23. I will have it cut and recrowned to approx 5.5" to yield slightly better ballistics than the 4.75". It will stick out, but I like the look. An EAA rep told me that the long barrels are out of stock indefinitely. Does anyone know of a source for this barrel or a custom equivalent? Bar-Sto is no longer making one. Thanks!
  7. So does anyone have a 9mm or 38S (or 9x23!) upper that they would be willing to sell? I'd rather not buy a whole new Match just to try out 9x23. Anyone?
  8. Yep,.I agree. I am using some 147gr bullets that I got as remanufactured ammo. Bullets Ogive is too high. I can use longer OAL loaded ammo from the same manufacturer with a speer or MG bullet,...BUT,...the high ogive ammo only works in one of my tanfoglio's...!? If I could slightly ream it, it would take that headache away. Funny,...but the glock and beretta had no issues digesting. CZ was a nightmare. So if I'd be better off using a 38 Super barrel, where can I find a conversion in this caliber for my Match?
  9. Thanks! It sounds like I can get a 9mm upper, ream the barrel, replace the spring, and run it with 38 super magazines. Is EAA still selling caliber conversions for the Match or do I need to find one elsewhere?
  10. Can any of you experts help us? I'm trying to get into this caliber relatively cheaply with the Witness and see how I like it before I dump serious cash into a dedicated 9x23 pistol.
  11. For those of you who have shot 9x23 in your 38S Witness: Did you ream your chamber or use as is? What Wolff spring did you replace with? Did you have to tune the extractor? What kind of accuracy are you getting? Does the 38S magazine feed okay? Thanks!
  12. Does the added pressure of the round necessitate a stronger barrel design in the ramp area, or is it enough to just rechamber and add a stronger spring? I don't mind waiting for Henning's design, I'm just curious.
  13. So I'm thinking about a 9x23 upper for my Witness Match .45...what would be the best way to go about it? Should I get a factory conversion kit in 38 Super or 9mm and ream it out or get a new barrel? What caliber mags would work best? Would it be better to wait for Henning's barrel/uppers? Henning, if I should wait, do you have an ETA on that project? (not meaning to be pushy!) Will a longslide barrel/slide for the Match be in the works, or would it be better to get a Hunter model for this? I wouldn't mind 6" if I could get one, but the standard length would be great too. I've also heard of many people just firing 9x23 in their Witness 38 Supers. Is this safe?
  14. The closest I've come is winning a 501 darts game with a Robin Hood in the bull. I'd probably never come close with a bow!
