I just thought I'd pass on a little info concerning the "Free Glock Certificates" and sales tax.
I recently purchased one and sent it in to Glock for redemption on a G19 Gen4. I received an email asking for payment of sales tax to confirm the order. I called the nice lady and told her that I was under the impression that no sales tax was due unless there was an upgrade requested. She informed me there are two types of "Free Glock" certificates. The certificates DIRECTLY FROM GLOCK do not incur sales tax on the listed base models with no up charge. The certificates that are PURCHASED THROUGH A THIRD PARTY, such as certificates awarded at a match, DO INCUR sales tax to be paid by the "recipients(end user)". She told me it "states that on the front of the certificate." I saw that note, but assumed it only applied to upcharges and upgrades. If the sales tax is based on the county to which it ships (my guess), then I was charged 7% on $350, or $24.50.
I don't post this as any complaint against Glock, the seller, or the forum. I just thought I would pass along what I learned today as the research I did on these certificates before purchasing seemed to omit this distinction.
The good news is; the wait time is not as long as I feared it could be.
