Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. So, Aerial clays with pistol, both optional AND mandatory. Slugs on a spinner. Shooting mounted (horse) rifle. Activating a shotgun target aerial with pistol from the boat. Some unique challenges, for sure. At least for me.
  2. In years past you had to park at Krilling and you were bussed to Parks. It was rifle/pistol, so you just carried what you needed on that stage on the bus. Not sure how they'll do it this year. I picked up a cheap sling bag in case we do that again. If they do a staggered squad format again there should be plenty of time between stages to go to your car for the stages on Krilling. All that being said; I'm bringing my cart because it's my woobie?. Also my SG won't fit in a bag.
  3. Anybody ever shot on the Shelton range? Searching online it looks like it was originally the Ft Benning Gun Club and possibly provides the opportunity to stretch out to 500 yds. Supposedly 3 stages there.
  4. Yeah, the 16th is for registration and walk through. I think they did have registration very early on Friday for those not there Thursday in 2015. Also, we only shot one stage (some squads 2) on Sunday to have time for awards/prizes. They said it'll be on 3 ranges this year, so that will be cool too. I understand they didn't shoot long range last year. I say all this with the understanding that the "Man" can change any thing at any time.
  5. What's up guys! I haven't been active on the forum for a good while, but came back to check the discussion on FBMG 2017. I know a lot don't "FaceSpace" so here is what has been posted on the match. "Mark your Calendars! The 2017 Fort Benning Multi-Gun Challenge will be held 16-19 Nov 2017. This year we will guarantee that we will have at least 40 guns on the prize table! Registration and walk-thru will be on the 16th with at least 12 stages on the 17th- 19th. What stages will the United States Marksmanship Unit build next year?" They are showing 24 squads on the signup (though squadding is not open yet.) That would be like 2015 where they staggered the squads per stage if they will do 12 stages this year. 40 guns, Grunt Style is doing the Tshirts and XS Sights just sponsored and put some stuff on the prize table. Getting better all the time. I shot it in 2015 and can't WAIT to get back. Should be a blast!
  6. Surprised no one has posted this yet: https://www.magpul.com/search-results?PID=88&eComQuery=SHOTgl9&ProductNumber=SHOTgl9&utm_source=MAGS&utm_medium=MAGS&utm_campaign=MAGS&utm_term=MAGS&utm_content=MAGS
  7. I have Barretts, but mostly run the C Products Defense 25rd and 10rd without issue as long as you don't stuff them full. I have yet to tweak feed lips and mine run well. Muuuch cheaper. http://shop.lcjwholesalestore.com/25-RD-68-SPC-CPD-MAGAZINE-STAINLESS-STEEL-68-SPC-25-RD-MAGAZINE.htm 68forums is a good place for deep knowledge of all things 6.8 Check out the stickies.
  8. ^^This! ...except for Stage 10. I found IT rather evil. I haven't shot stage 10 yet. It's tomorrow, but it does look evil. The barbed wire looks like the easiest part of the stage. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk Yep! I had a ball shooting it, but it ate me up. The stage, not the wire. Lol
  9. In case anyone else happens on this issue; I called C-Rums and he explained why this is happening and that removing the inner shell catch spring and/or switching to the milder slugs should solve it. I feel a lot better now. Super nice and another +1 for C-Rums here.
  10. Results were the same. I had one round feed properly out of a full tube about halfway though. Nordic spring cut to 13" past the end of the tube. Zero problem like this with any birdshot loads. The mag spring was one of my thoughts, but it's like the shell catch isn't releasing. Why would/could hotter ammo cause that after changing the carrier when it worked OK previously?
  11. I know this is an old thread, but I was curious if you ever figured yours out. I have a VM Tactical that suddenly won't load the Winchester bulk 1oz 1300fps slugs. They cycled fine before I had C-Rums weld a carrier. It runs bird ok with a couple jams on the sharp chamber (I'll work on that later). The problem seems to be that it is not releasing the slug onto the carrier as a pulled trigger on the empty chamber releases a shell and not a double feed. Gonna try some milder slugs, but right now its a bolt operated slug gun. Edit: If anyone else has any clue, I'm all ears. Need to work it out before tomorrow afternoon for Ft Benning.
  12. Thanks very much! I was scared to post that I couldn't get it to print right.
  13. Exactly what I did. Nordic spring made an immediate improvement. Was dang near impossible with the factory spring.
  14. Click on it to get the zoomed view and that looks like the correct sketch. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun!
