DaG
Thought I would add this for 9mm since there is already one for 40. Temp. 83' Humidity 63% ELE. 1087 STI Trojan 9mm STI Trojan 9mm WIN Brass WIN Brass Valiant 125 LRN Valiant 125 LRn Magtech SP Wolf SP VV N320 3.8 VV N320 3.8 OAL 1.095 1.095 Crimp .378 .378 AV 1045 1035 ES 34.58 36.02 AD 8.5 7.5 SD 11.0 10.24 Maybe it's just me, but the Magtech's seems to seat alot easier and ran alot smoother through my SDB. Overall I'd say they're pretty close to each other. Next, I'll try a CZ with a light mainspring and see what happens. Dave.O
Thanks for doing the comparison... I for one was wondering how the Magtech primers were working...
s.p.e.c.t.r.e.#9
Second the seating comment -- I find that Magtech's seat much more easily and consistently than CCI. They 'feel' almost the same as WSP. On the negative, though, they are easier to crush/overseat. Usually I don't find it necessary to spin the case and press a second time when using my Lee hand priming tool like I did with CCIs to get consistent depth. I've found this to be true with all brass that I use, but it is most obvious when using WIN brass, where CCI 500s don't seem to seat easily while Magtechs go in just fine. TonyT
Are the Magtech primers harderv than the Winchester? I am looking for replacements in revolver ammo.
