Garrett
I'm having a pistol threaded for a silencer, and I might want to put a comp on the gun when I'm not using the can. The barrel is a .44 mag, and I'm using a large .45 caliber silencer which was designed for a subgun. For those times when I don't want to use a 12" long can on the end of the barrel, I'm thinking it would be a good idea to screw a comp on in its place. I don't know that anyone has really designed a comp for a .44 mag, so what is the biggest, baddest .45 comp out there? I'm having the barrel threaded 5/8-24 to match the silencer mount. Is there a standard thread pitch used to attach a comp to the barrel? And if it doesn't happen to be 5/8-24, can the comp be ordered unthreaded so it can be machined to match the barrel?
