Championship Match Update

I have a commitment for either a .50 Cal. Ma Deuce or a .30 Cal. belt fed will be available for the Championship Match.

I’m working out the cost of ammo, and which one we can afford to shoot.

I want the Ma Deuce :D

We do have a loaner Surefire for anyone to use.

If you bring your own, you can use a weapon mounted light on your Rifle or handgun or a hand held light with your handgun.

The choice is yours

If we opt to use a light mounted on our handgun, does it have to fit in our holster, or can we begin the stage out of the holster?

Can you clarify your holster requirements?

Your rules states:

Holster must cover the trigger guard and provide sufficient retention to withstand vigorous movement. All drop type holsters (below waist and thigh holsters must have a positive retention). No race holsters, shoulder, vest, small of back or cross draw holsters allowed.

Why no race holsters? What is a 'race' holster?

I would like to use a ghost holster. Is this holster allowed?

This holster covers the trigger guard and provide full retention with the lock applied.

Please advise.

I'll be shooting in trooper class.

Your ghost holster is what we refer to as a race holster. The problem we have had with these is, you can brush or bump the lock mechanism (moving through a doorway, in and out of a car or going prone on the ground) and the gun can be dislodged.

In regards to a normal waist holster a rule of thumb, if you can put a loaded gun into the holster and gently shake it upside-down with out the gun falling out, chances are it will stay with you.

Any drop holster including a small offset, needs a positive retention in which you have to actually disengage it before you can remove the gun from the holster.

All holsters have to cover the trigger area

I hope this has clarified our rules. It all is meant to keep your gear with you while your navigating demanding stages with multiple loaded firearms.

Thank,
