rfwobbly Posted April 9, 2009 Share Posted April 9, 2009 In rifle shooting it's generally accepted that you want to leave both eyes open. So you don't really want to cover the dominant eye with something like a dark eye patch. You want both eyes seeing normal light conditions. To do this with my "mixed up" Scouts, I use either a pair of shooting glasses with translucent tape (normal Scotch office tape) over the dominant eye's lens, or I make a "blinder" out of a milk jug and affix it to the rear sight. This last idea works best with aperture sights, since open field sights don't offer the ease of mounting a blinder. Hope this helps! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
