I am starting to load for 45 ACP and fun target shooting.

I just bought a STI ranger and a S+W 25 - 2.

I have win 231 powder and win large pistol primers.

I just ordered some starline +P brass.

Questions:

1) Is the 230 g LRN bullet the one to start with?

2) I can get in 450/.451/.452 size. Many smith guys use the .452 I understand. Is the .452 the one to start with?

3) Can you suggest one load that is a good start for both guns?

4) Just 1.5 lbs left of 231  I want a cleaner powder next. Any suggestions?

OK, a quick visit to the search function will be your friend. You can find tons of info regarding reloading the .45 and pretty much whatever else you're looking for as well.

231 is fine, but a bit dirty. I'm using a Clays load now and it is very nice.

As for your bullet type, everyone will have their personal favorite. Some like the 185g SWC and others the 230g. Buy different bullets and see what you like best.
