At my Sheriffs Office we have recently been given the Raptor 3 series holster to use with our Glock 21/22. The holster is not to bad...but there is an issue that I want to make people aware of in relation to it and the Glock. First off...I love the Glock, and I like the holster a lot. This is not a bashing post. However, I and a few others have run into similar issues regarding the two being used together.

Apparently in the new gen 3 Glocks the extractor pin has a hook like shape to it. The Gen 2 Glocks did not have this...the extractor pin was flat. The issue with this is that when the gun is hot and the extractor pin is pushed out into the ready position...that hook like feature on it gets caught in some of the holsters. This makes is virtualy impossible to draw in the amount of time that you would need in a gun fight.

 

This is not a problem on all of the holsters though. I dont know why...but when I whent through a few of the other un-issued holsters at the range I found one that does not have this problem. I brought it to the attention of the RM and the safety officers there and they are calling Glock in Smyrna to ask them about this...or if we can get the last generations extractor pin with our agency purchaces.

If anyone has had this problem I would like to hear about it...and if not and you are considering purchasing this holster I want you to be aware of it. Again...I like the holster...its just an issue that people need to be aware of. Thanks
