Genghis Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 I ran into this same problem when I started reloading .38 Super. Tried everything, then finally noticed that some of the bullets were very loose in the case. I could turn the bullet, and sometimes pull it out with my fingers. Turns out that the American Ammunition brass I was using would not hold a crimp. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jeffham222 Posted April 25, 2007 Share Posted April 25, 2007 having the same problem on my RCBS Pro 2000. Moved the seater/crimper die forward one position on press to make room for powder checker, and screwed it into the plate more... Regular brass is good to go with an OAL of 1.125 or so (give or take a few .001's), nickel plated is .008" longer, also shell is .008 longer than the reg brass. never had this problem before, refer to my new post in reloading for some other info, it may help you... I am thinking it is because my seater/crimp die is screwed in more, therefore, I am noticing more of a crimping issue with the nickel being a longer case. It's funny, but true I think...
