SPINGE
Howdy, I hope everyone is doing well. I have been loading 9mm on my 750 to great success for my production gun. I recently got a revolver and want to load 9, but in testing about 40-50% get light strikes with my tuned springs. One of my buddies also loads 9mm competition revolver ammo and we compared out rounds. My primers are flush with the casehead and his are seated so deep there is a visible step down to the primer. His ammo worked flawless in my revo and we realized that my first hammer strike is not hard enough to set the primer off but just acts as a seater and pushes the primer further forward into the primer pocket. Here is the rub, he has a 1050 and I have a 750. My question is if there is there any way to get reliable performance without having to 1) buy a new press, 2) increase my trigger pull weight, and 3) get a hold of Federal SSP which I currently can't get. I have heard something about a small shim in the seater but couldn't find anything online or here on BE. Thanks in advance.
