Why replace extractor pin and spring along with extractor?

Recommended Posts

I have a CZ 75 and recently my extractor broke (the hook that crabs the casing is gone). While shopping for a new extractor, I see that CGW says at https://cajungunworks.com/product/cgw-extractor-9mm/:

We recommend a new extractor pin (#51) and a new extractor spring (#52) when replacing the extractor.

Anyone know why they recommend this? Is it "just in case" or is there a specific reason for doing so? Because the spring and pin are so cheap compared to the extractor, I doubt it's just to sell more parts, so I'm wondering, what will happen if I don't? I can see how the spring would eventually fail, but why would the pin?
