InTheBlack
Recently had to abandon System 9. Sherlock for OSX 10.3 is disappointing. It defaults to a bunch of web-searching crap I don't want. I want to set a folder to "don't index me or anything inside me" like I could with Sys 9.x I also want separate indexes for certain folders. Different topics contain the same keywords which results in too much noise in the search results. I might need a 3rd party indexing tool If so, how can I turn off Sherlock so it doesn't waste my clock cycles indexing in the background and waste my disk space with its index? What is the hidden index filename under OSX and where is it kept? How does it work WRT the multi-User environment of OSX?
