Pegasus82
Does anyone use the Trijicon HD XR (thinner front sight post) night sights for competition shooting? How do they hold up? Thanks for the input.
jerkeejoe
Tag because I had the exact same thought the other day. I've been using the standard HD's on my CCW and regular carry guns for a long time and swear that they are the best sight around for that purpose. Recently saw the XR line and thought they might be great for competition shooting. My only thought is that the fiber sights that I currently use are far brighter than the dot on the HDs, so you might be giving up some speed in acquiring the front sight. Pegasus82
That was my thought as well in regards to giving up speed. I guess you wouldn't really know unless you tried it out but I'm not willing to shell out $150 just to test it out. Hopefully someone can give us some good input. Snowb1rd
I run a fiber optic front on my CZ Shadow and Trijicon HD XRs in my HD/Carry guns. I find that it's easier/faster on my eyes to pick up the glaringly bright red fiber optic on my Shadow, than the HD XRs and I can track that fiber optic very well through the recoil and resettling of the sight picture. Might just be me though. I do love my HD XRs on my HD/Carry guns though, just a tad bit slower to me.
