Wesquire
So my fiance's condo has pretty dim lighting and I've been dry firing there a lot. It isn't enough to illuminate the fiber optic at all, so in fast transitions I'm seeing much less of the front sight. On closer targets it almost feels like I'm aiming by just pointing the rear notches at the A zone. Anyways, went to the range today and had multiple 100% el pres (prod) runs. I've never had a 95%+ run. I've always been accurate, but I've always been slow. Don't know if there's a takeaway here or not but a few things I'm thinking: 1) The lighting made me switch to more of a target focus, which sped me up 2) I was training in a 'harder' than normal condition 3) Just dumb luck
alucardus
The none-illuminated sight might have allowed you to focus on the targets better and train your eyes to see everything vs concentrating on the sights too much. When I shoot iron sights the targets are focused on and the sights sort of blurred this way you see everything. When I first started I would be slowed down by switching my focus between sights and target then fire. Once I trained my eyes to focus on the targets but still see the sights I got much faster.
