Standard devision Diary

Hi,

Began shooting IPSC here in Israel at 2009.

Things are tough here in Israel from the "citizen owning a firearm point of view*, So after 2 years of competitions ( 2009- 2010) with a rented guns I had choise and I bough a 2011 double stack BULL M5 pistol to shoot STANDARD MINOR. Sinse the gun was at he shooting range I trained DRY FIRE with Airsoft at home. And Airsoft is a real deal trainer that got me to the place in IPSC. By competing in this devision for a year (My best place in chart was 7-th) I have disposed the 9x19 and tottaly went to 40SW. Since the BOX of Standard was an issue I thought over the 40SW in CZ75-TS ( that will allow you to have magazines with 18 rounds and still fit in the IPSC box).

The choise was proven as correct one and the 40SW factor got me straigh in the top 4 in Standard devision

Well I got traiing hard on everything that was on my mind - I watched every video on youtube that was out there, and trained acordingly for accuracy first and gave uo everything else. The plan proved out to be correct, the speed came up gradualy with time, but the high points is what brought me to the second place overall in 2011, 2012, 2013.

The trainings that I do ( I train alone, only comming to club traiings once a week) is what gave me the push, I do not shoot more thn 100 round per a week ( ammo is not cheap) and the rest is airsoft and dry-fire

you can see some of the competitions in the youtube chanel.

*Many mistake Israel as " free gun country" where anyone can buy/own firearm- it is not the case. There is no constitution, no Second Amend", you can drive, shoot and command a tank, when you are 18-22 years old and you are still a teenager with nothing in your head, but when your army duty is over, you will not be allowed to own a firearm.

and Because of Israeli law that will not allow law abbiting citizens to own a firearm ( uless you live near a Lebanon boarder or you are ex-Army officer ranked Captain and above) I had to rent a gun for IPSC shooting course and to rent gun for the next year.

The story of " your own gun" did not finish there- because of the same law you have to compete 2 years without your own firearm ( that means automatically- every competition you will rent a different gun, differnt sights, triger etc) I shot trought CZ75, Glock GEN1,2,3 SIG P226, Berreta 92, Tanfoglio MOSSAD and many, many more, the magaiznes were not fitted, I dealt more with gun malfunctions during the stage in competition then I did with shootign itself, REALLY frustrating, and you can not bring your own ammo. Another thing is that the reloading is forbiden in Israel, and there is no free- sales of spare parts ( if you want to replace stock disconnector on your Glock you have to give up your own disconnector and pay for new one 3.5lb), another thing is that a license for a firearm will not allow you to own anymore than 50 rounds ( yes math lovers a glock 17 and 3 fully loaded magazines means breaking a law) , you need a speacial licens to buy 1000 rounds for competition, that will coast you money, time, etc... Another thing is that Israel has embargo on AMMO- that means all the internetional shipments of AMMO can not arive by AIR - only ships ( that automatically means that ammo is not cheap at all).

There is no funding to the best competitors in Israel, never was and never will be, the reason for that is that gun companies "are not interested in investments in such deals" - and that is a direct quote.

there is much more....
