Comparing shooting skill should mean apples to apples.

Heck, I loved what's probably the ultimate spec division seen in recent years - World War II Division at last year's LaRue. Everyone in the division had an M1 Garand (PING!) with all the shooters I talked to running the same ammo (Greek surplus), a 12ga pump with a 6 round tube, and a 1911 with 8 round mags.

Sounds like great fun, I envision wearing a steel pot helmet too! In fact, I may do just that at a local match in the future, maybe around Memorial or Veteran's Day as a tribute to my Dad (WWII vet) and others from the "Greatest Generation". I have an M1, Greek Surplus ammo, a short 1897 pump gun, and of course a 1911 .45. You know, it has kind of a even sound to it, eight rounds in the rifle and eight in the pistol!
