cjleabres Posted October 6, 2004 Share Posted October 6, 2004 gun: sti frame, .38super during reloads, mag lip is hitting the ejector as well as the bottom of the slide...i have had to replace the ejector twice in recent months...anyone else have this problem and more importantly a fix? thanks in advance... mcoliver Posted October 6, 2004 Share Posted October 6, 2004 Mine didn't break but it pushed the ejector up causing it to bind the slide. With my singlestack, I beveled the (bottom-half) side of the ejector being hit by the mag. In my widebody, I had to file the tip so it would be just behind the mag corner. HTH. redmercury2 Posted October 6, 2004 Share Posted October 6, 2004 Check your mag release,see how much vert. and horiz. play is in the mag when locked in. inside of mag release may be wrong contour to lock up mag, or mag catch cut in mag may be mispositioned or too large. ejector tip can be trimmed to allow room for mag. contour underside not length.
