He'd like to compete with a Sig 229 but he would also be open to rifle shooting with an AR 15. Both of these guns are stock. What types of events should I keep my eye open for? Retread1911 Posted June 17, 2012 Share Posted June 17, 2012 I would start with the 229 in USPSA. There are lots of local matches around me ANSI would suspect there would be around you as well. Start with the club locator on the USPSA web site and go to a match to watch first. Most everyone I have run intros very nice and will Help. One thing I would recommend as well is reading the rule book even before showing up. For example it will help you understand the difference between production and limited.
