glynnm45
Is it OK to use my .45ACP Taper Crimp Die on my .45LC Cowboy Loads? I am using a 250gr RNFP bullet over 4.6gr Trailboss.
fltbed
You can on the light target loads. Also, if your loading ACP bullets, it’s pretty much a requirement. It may also improve your accuracy. Do some experiments with different amounts of crimp. (both taper and roll) The roll crimps primary job is to keep round number 5 & 6 from “walking” forward under the recoil of the first founds being fired. Heavy recoil + light crimps = having a bullet sticking out the end of the cylinder, tying up the gun. Hope this helps. Jeff
glynnm45
Thank you for the reply. I loaded 50 rounds yesterday using the taper crimp die and all went well. Since I use primarily light .45LC loads I figured I wouldn't have a problem. I have a brace of .45LC Blackhawks and like to shoot "cowboy action". I have an order in with MBC for their 200gr LRNPF's to try next week. Again, thanks for your reply, it's always good to have other opinions or ideas.
