DTHN2LGS Posted September 7, 2011 Share Posted September 7, 2011 I personally would only get a lathe that has a 40" length, a 13 x 40, or a 14 x 40. If you do any rifle barrel work, you will be glad you have that length. I started with using a 13 x 36, and then went to a 13 x 40 and would never go back to anything shorter.
