ghost1
As I am from the land down under and there is a limited supply of after market barrels, I would much appreciate some local expertise on the subject. I would like to use lead projectiles as many ranges here only permit their use, the question is wether to go with a compensated barrel or maybe a ported barrel. Is there much difference between the two or would I be better off with a match barrel by one of the reputable manufacturers. Would like some feedback with actual use of different makes. I will probably go with hardcast 125gr conical projectiles with about 4.0gr of W231 or even WSF. One of the gun suppliers here tried to sell me a 'Kings" ported barrel are they any good??????? Ausglock
G'day Ghost1. Mate, I bought a Kings threaded barrel from Cleavers in Brisbane to suit a G17. I fitted a Federal 2 port comp to it and added an Optima. The Kings barrel shoots extremely well. I use 5.2 gr AP-90 behind a Topscore 125gr black or gold conical lead pill. P/Factor runs at 137 Average for 10 rounds. I also use 4.4gr W231 with the same pill P/F is 141. Hooroo. Regards, Trevor OZ
