nbraybrook
I got a 13lb hammer sping n it works great for lightening the trigger pull but its to weak to set of the primers everytime, not terrible but I had 3 light strikes out of 150 rnds. So my question is, is it ok to take some coils off the firing pin spring to lighten it up so it can hit harder? I know the XL firing pin would solve this but I want to use this gun in IDPA and removing the firing pin block is illegal in idpa rules
bikerburgess
I have done that on one of my production guns and it helped a little with the harder primers but be careful and only take off a little at a time if you take off to much then the firing pin can go to far forward and get stuck when dry fired (like on hammer down and holster, this is lots of fun on the next make ready when you rack the slide the firing pin stop falls out and then the firing pin can get un-stuck and go flying, by the way they are hard to find in gravel) Mike
