Jimmy76
I want to start loading .223, .308, & 30.06 on my Dillon 550 so I've been reading up on here about it. I've read about a "test" that was done comparing loading on a progressive vs single stage and how the accuracy results were the same. I believe it was done by someone at Dillon, but I haven't had any luck searching for it in the forums. Anyone have a link or info? Thanks Jim Edited July 6, 2010 by Jimmy76
rwnielsen
The only issue I'm aware of is powder weight consistency with stick type powders(4064, Varget) and large flake powders. If you want truly accurate ammo for longer ranges you need to weigh each charge. That being said......I hand load some .308s with a single stage for target and chrono stuff but.....I have a .308 tool head set up for my 650 as well that I can load general purpose blasting ammo on. It really depends on what you want to do and what you're looking for as far as accuracy.
