major9
Hi, I have a new (to me) Case Pro. Any experienced users have any hints and tips? I've found out that you have to break and polish the edge of the new movable die. This prevents the vertical dent in the cases. How often do you clean the brass shards and grease/dirt off the dies? Anything I should watch for? Thanks, Rob
Linear Thinker
I've set up a brass prep station using a dedicated 1050 (too worn for regular duty) and a Case-Pro mounted side-by-side where a 90º turn of the case feeder will feed the Case-Pro. The drop tube needed a ~4" extension, which I fabricated from a fish-tank filter intake tube. It was the perfect ID and OD for the job. My brass prep routine: 1. The range brass gets an ultrasonic bath, to get the dirt off. Some folks use regular detergents. I use ultrasonic cleaning compounds (surfactants), as I want the dirt to drop to the bottom, not stay suspended in the solution. 2. Deprime the brass 3. Case-pro the brass 4. Vibra-clean it in walnut media 5. Ultrasonic bath to get the abrasive dust off Ready to load! There's no real need to deprime the brass, but I prefer clean primer pockets. Good luck, LT
