Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. It felt like I was around nothing but like minded people. The most enjoyable part for me as I told many was the fact that I heard nothing but the cadence of 1911's. I have had a problem listening to the cadence of open and limited guns being a newer shooter. Without a doubt the greatest match I have shot in my short USPSA career. I can't wait for next years match and can't fathom you guys making it better. Till next year...
  2. Yes Sensei Chang you have told me and more. I have been in my bubble praticing. all things are coming together but transitions are whupping my butt. I am going out to the range today and will have hopefully made progress with the berm drill suggested. I will report in later today. Over and out,
  3. Thanks Jake, I will be doing just that as soon as I get up in the morning. I love this site and I just plain love shooting.
  4. Okay Guys and Gals this is my problem (amongst others). 7 yards with two targets 5 yards apart. Sight picture (boom!), sight picture and eyes move to next target as I fire second round. drive gun to second target fire two. My split is .4 between targets and can't seem to lower my transition time after months of trying. I am getting good clean hits but can't find where I am losing the time or what I should be doing. What are others actually doing with eyes, gun etc.? Any and all comments are welcome. Single stack, 230gr.
  5. I was recently told that I push the gun out too quickly during presentation. I will get the gun out and up on target very quickly but then there is a slight pause before shot is taken. My question or thought is that it feels very slowwww to me. If I continue with my current method will it get better or do I need to slow down my presentation to see the sights sooner. It was said that with slowing the presentation down, the shot should break when I have achieved max extension. Any thoughts on what others do and how it works for them. Shooting iron sights on my SS with dept. required night sights.
  6. Finally got to shoot today. Shot 300 rounds today in a clean gun. Not a problem and then I found that as I got close to finishing up, the gun released from lockback after dropping the mag. I'm not using a Shok-Buff or anything like that. I know it is not that big a deal but now I am determined to get to the bottom of this. I can't help it, I was that kid who took his brand new bike apart to see what made it run and if I could put it back together.
  7. Shot today and twice the slide on my Springfield 1911 released from lockback. When I dropped the empty magazine, the slide released from lockback. Is there a potential fix or just one of those things that "just happens"?
