  1. Regardless of which combo of parts, the last thing you need to do after all the fitting is put dye on the sear, and cycle the hammer 15-20 times. Take it apart, and confirm both hooks are grabbing the sear evenly. Saw it again today, beautiful crisp sub 2Lbs trigger, only using one side of the sear. Back in the jig 3 times to get it even. As is, it was beautiful, but would not have lasted. Super happy with end result, good luck.

  2. When I bought my Edge a couple years ago, it was allready a used gun, with a very used trigger group. First thing I did was order the Brazos pro series kit, and it dropped in just awesome. I had my gunsmith check it over shortly afterwards and the hammer/sear engagement was excellent. I was lucky on that one.

I recently revived my STI trojan, which never really had a trigger job. This time I put it in at the gunsmiths, and it felt pretty good. Put some die on the hammer, and after cycling the action a dozen times, check the hammer/sear engagement. Not soo lucky this time, only catching on one side. If I would have dropped it in and started shooting it, would have been okay for a while, then gotten worse. It was a great lesson, and we got everything happy in the Trojan. :) Other than it needs a F/O front sight...

  3. Hello: I wonder if the Grams 4mm base pad on your 126mm tubes would do it? You may have to angle the base pad a bit to fit the box. On a side note I use SVI 45 mags with Dawson followers and can get more in those tubes. Thanks, Eric

On my edge currently, with stock rear sight and trimmed barrel. At the front of an SV tube, I can have approx .120 lower than the feed lips to fit in the box. At the back of the mag it's approx .375 to fit.

 I am sorry, I don't get this!!

Ooops, I didn't mean feed lips.... I meant that bottom of the tube....

  5. With Canada losing the box exemption for magazines this year in Standard (Max capacity in Canada is 10 rounds, so we had an exemption allowing 140mm mags) I've been learning all about what fits and what doesn't :-)

Just because a mag base says IPSC box legal, doesn't mean it will be on your gun. Rear sight installation, and barrel length are two very important factors. If you have mags that will go into the gun with 18 rounds and fit in the box that's awesome. 19 I would like to see...

  6. RO'ing a shooter at our sunday club match, on "unload and show clear" the 38super round came out and detonated quite loudly :) on the gravel behind me. The shooter is an old/deaf guy that didn't hear it go off... so I finished with "if clear hammer down etc.." Once the gun was put away, turned to see that everyone else was okay. The lady writing scores down got smacked in the thigh with something (no cuts, she had jeans on). We found the case nicely opened up with the primer and bullet nowhere to be seen.

  7. Last practice I saw some movement on the front sight, stopped to see what was wrong and here's what I have:

I had it installed by a gunsmith 2 months ago, shot around 2000 rounds since. I really like the sight, and don't want to be replacing them all the time. Suggestions?

No it hasn't been smacked in ports or used as a hammer

  8. I recently picked up a spare tungsten guide rod for my edge, and after fitting it I'm wondering if I got the wrong size or it was packaged wrong. I am currently running an EGW tungsten guide rod that is 3.935" long. The steel one in my Trojan is also 3.935" long. The new one is 3.875" long and just barely contains the revest plug and recoil spring, the others come flush to the front of the frame.

I'm measuring from the face that mates with the frame to the end. Is that normal? or did I get the wrong one?

  9. sitting here in my room with a fever feeling like my eye are burning coals. Been downing flu crap, but not feeling good about shooting. If I don't feel better tomorrow, I'm a spectator. The mede andfever have me woozy. Getting dizzy running with a gum is out, so no mesa in the morning and we shall see.. Long way to come to watch.......

Oh that's no good. If you feel like crap in the morning, they might let you shoot through on sunday or something. I'd say have a soak in the tub, but if it's the same as my room it's a foot to short :)
