  1. I'm not as up to date on the rule book as I should be and I'm also not a very good range lawyer. I thought the stage added alot of fun elements to this match. I enjoyed it. I also believe that the powers that be will really look at all that has been said and make the appropiate changes in the future. As for today we all shot the stage the same way, therefore in my mind it was a fair, equally administered, challenging stage.

  2. From my perspective, as the guy who shot this target, I saw and engaged what had gone from 1 full size drop turning target with three looks to a target with 2 halves of a full size target. At the time I fired the second shot the turner was closing up yet still visible. I deemed it to be range failure once I was through. It strikes me as a plate on a stem that turns sideways yet fails to fall off. All evidence indicates the second shot would've been a solid hit.

  3. Many thanks to Randall and all of the other people who made this happen PRIOR to the rest of us getting to help out. All of the squads were trememdously helpful in resetting stage #1 and it was very much appreciated. Thanks to all of the sponsors and competitors who continue to make this sport thrive. Congrats to the winners and as an Al. Section member thanks to all for making this match a success.

  4. I woke up sore all over monday.

My only regret is the one missed steel plate on stage 2 that cost me 2nd place in front of the short fat man above, LOL.... :roflol:

Woke up Sore??? Did you go home with REID :roflol:

You mean the short fat man that whipped your arse? :surprise: At least YOU missed the plate.......

From the sound of the 1st statement missing the plate may be your 2nd regret but I'm sure before you are done they will be many more!!!!

If your nice I will let you shoot my new pistol.................

Now..now Webb. I think I'll stick with the amazon (Stefan). He's a little thicker. :roflol:

A sincere thanks to all who had a part in planning/running this match. Definitely a classy group of people. A great prize table to boot. Congrats to the winners!!

  5. It's a little late but I truly appreciate the effort that Randal put in to this match. The stages were alot of fun and all of us RO's tried our best to ensure that all of the shooters had a good time. I would also like to thank Stefan and Mark and everyone else associated with this match for the way it came off. What a great bunch of people.

Congrats to the winners and the mugs were a really new concept. Thanks again Randal.

  6. All right, now that we've got that out of the way does anyone know where the aftermatch party will be held. It's gonna be informal for sure and I'm sure there'll be plenty of frosty malt barley pops (beer) to go around. We should vote now as to whether camcorders and other recording devices will be allowed. Just a thought. Anyone have any other suggestions? There are plenty of quakity eating establishments located nearby and near the match hotel.

  7. I never paid much attention to it but the women playing softball are really fun to watch and competetive to boot. I've thought about giving up IPSC to become an umpire.

  8. I personally don't see the primer pricing dropping that much after the explosion of demand just as the bullet prices did with the price of scrap. I'm having to pay double for the same sleave as I was 2 years ago. I never would've guessed that we would be in this situation. A little short sighted of me. I heard a person describe most eloquently the current issue , "No one can sell a gun like a Democrat".

On another note does anyone know what the allowable loaded or component amount of supplies is acceptable by the ATF? I'm buying all I can find and there is technically no reason that I should ever have to find out the hard way but it does make me curious.

  9. Take this for what it's worth but I've got an Eagle setup that works equally well in both sports. All that's required is to downgrade your powder charge and main spring which are really quick fixes to shoot IDPA. That keeps you used to one setup with just a little less recoil. It makes sense to me and has worked exceptionally well even though I do not shoot IDPA that much. You can even use your IDPA holster in IPSC so that you maintain the same feel. I have found all of this out over the course of 8 years so it's pretty sage advice if I do say so myself. Take it for what it's worth but I'm a "M" class in both sports and always use the KISS method. Keep it simple stupid. I hope this helps and good luck with whichever route you take.

  10. I'm wondering as are many of you I'm sure as to where our sport is heading and what we'll all have to do to continue doing what we love. The inaccessibility of rifle parts and primers is quite alarming as is the proposed legislation against our sport. I'm curious if the MD's have given thought to having more one day matches to keep the competitors expenses lower and perhaps having more cash and plaque payback matches with perhaps fewer shooters. I personally don't shoot some matches because I think they're not really relevant to what I'm trying to accomplish and it's just a waste of supplies. I understand that this happened several years ago but it didn't last forever obviously. I'm also curious as to the cost of our equipment staying the same as the equipment catches back up to demand. I'm now paying $163 per sleave of Winchester small pistol primers where as I used to pay $90 per sleave. I'm not trying to be all gloom and doom but I am looking for other's points of view.

  11. How much of this discussion applies to each of your shooting abilities and/or your mindset prior to a match? I really enjoy reading the quotes and giving it a great deal of thought even though where I'm from here in the deep south it's not commonly practiced or accepted. Is there a specific book that I might could buy to learn a little more from.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

    About the path.... reality

We can drop the fundamental hope that there is a better "me" who one day will emerge. We can't just jump over ourselves as if we were not there.

Pema Chodron : From the book "When Things Fall Apart"

The truth you believe and cling to makes you unavailable to hear anything new.

Wouldn't one of these quotes lead a person to believe that our futures are predestined?

  13. Yeah, it's getting to be a real challenge to find these things. I appreciate all of the info though. Please PM me if any of you find these in stock somewhere. I would be forever greatful.
