  1. This is it. It's the last IPSC match this year at Capital City Rifle Club in Williamston MI, and it's the club Revolver championship match. It will be a Halloween match. If you have never been to one its great. Some if not most of the targets will have masks on them and noshoot ghosts. There will be plenty of other spooky Halloween items also. See you on Oct. 14th, registration starts at 9:00 AM, safety meeting at 9:45 AM, shooting starts at 10:00 AM.
  2. Shooters, This Saturday, May 26 Capitol City Rifle Club (CCRC) will host a Caboodle Shoot. This match consists of six stages similar to IPSC speed shoots. The targets will be 50 steel and 50 cardboard for a round count of 150. CCRC is located three miles north of Williamston (between Howell and Lansing on I-96) at 1819 Germany Rd. The shooting starts at 9 AM and again at 1 PM . Show up a half hour or more early to sign up. Shoot either or both times. The fee is $10 for CCRC members and $20 for nonmembers, all may shoot a second run for $10. We will award the five IDPA pistol divisions and also OPEN pistol and pistol caliber carbine ( PCC ) if you prefer to shoot those guns Sunday, May 27 we will shoot a PCC match. Same rules as the Caboodle match, but lots more targets and higher round counts. The shooting starts at 10 AM . Sign up a half hour early. You may shoot a pistol if you prefer. The fee is $10 for CCRC members and $15 for nonmembers. The next IPSC match at CCRC will be on Sunday, June 10. There are slots available for the 2007 Michigan IDPA Championship at the Raccoon Hunters in Romulus , MI . The price has been reduced to $80 so please sign up soon and support our IDPA State match.
  3. Our club (Capital City Rifle Club, Williamston, MI) runs a PCC match on the Sunday after every sanctioned IDPA match. We use the same stage scenarios, but just add a lot more targets. We typically shoot 30 - 50 rounds per stage. We've been doing this for the last year and it has really grown in popularity. We run based on IPSC-like rules, but use IDPA targets and scoring. The typical stage description is "At the buzzer engage targets as they become visible."
  4. I apologize for my error in forum etiquette, I'll only post match announcements here in the future.

  7. This Saturday, April 28 Capitol City Rifle Club (CCRC) will host an IDPA match. This match is the 2007 CDP Club Championship. We have plaques for the first Master, Expert, Sharpshooter and Marksman CDP shooters. Bring out your 45 ACP in any type of auto-pistol; 1911, Ruger, Glock, Sig, etc. Load only 8 rounds in the mags to be CDP legal. You may shoot SSP, ESP or revolver if you prefer. The shooting starts at 9 AM and again at 12:30 PM. Please show up a half hour early to sign in. You may shoot either or both times. The cost is $10 for CCRC members and $20 for nonmembers. Juniors and SO's shoot for $5. A second run is $10 for all. Respond if you wish to be an SO. CCRC is located three miles north of Williamston, MI at 1819 Germany Rd. Williamston is located on I-96 between Howell and Lansing. All matches consist of six stages. The day after the IDPA match, Sunday, April 29, CCRC will host a Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) match. Shooting starts at 10 AM. 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP carbines are allowed but the M-1 carbine is not allowed, it damages the steel targets. No bottleneck cartridges (.223, etc.) are allowed. We use IPSC rules for PCC but employ IDPA scoring. The next event at CCRC will be an IPSC match Sunday, May 6. Shooting starts at 10 AM. 8. That would work too, but I already own the 1911A1 in 9MM, but I don't currently own a 38 super.
  9. Generally an even number of rounds is a slight advantage, because unless there's some steel, 2 rounds per target yields at gun a slide lock AFTER you have completed a target. It saves the time of reengaging a target for a single round. However, add some steel and this won't always be an advantage.
  10. Thanks to everyone for their input! I shoot 9 round magazines in IDPA matches, and agree that in most cases 9 + 1 is better than 10 + 1. But, our club also just started IPSC matches. We have a club championship each month with plaques, and we will be holding a Limited 10 match in the near future. Last year in Limited 10 I ran my standard Springfield 9 round magazines.
  11. Thanks very much Born-n-45. I just ordered four magazines from Brownells (I get dealer pricing) for $20.97 each.
  12. I know Wilson is working on these right now, I have been in contact with a Wilson person for the last year and there are expected to be available later this year. I appreciate their efforts to ensure these are "perfect" and I swear by their 45 ACP magazines, but I need some to use in matches this year. Anyone know of a vendor who has them available today, and if so, do they work and are they reliable? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.
  13. Thanks everyone, I have and will continue to use the Safari Land metal holders for the .40/10 MM moon clips for ESP (and IPSC). I ordered a set of 3 newly designed, IDPA legal carriers from Ready Tactical Products today for the .38/.357. Jeff Berger used these at the 2005 MI State IDPA match and feel that work well, his results at that match speak for themselves based on his score.
  14. Last time I shot revolver in IDPA was before the carrier rule changes in 2005. I have Safari Land III speed loaders for a .38/.357 and moon clips for my .40/10MM S&W 610. Can anyone recommend legal carriers that work well, are fast, and would work for both revolvers? Many thanks to anyone who replies.
